•Nice Applicator That Separates The Lashes Very Well
🤔Cons:
• Takes A While To Dry
•Not “Sweaty-Girl” friendly
📒Notes: I think the mascara is really great for only paying a dollar and some change for! The color is dark and it doesn’t clump as bad as others that I’ve used. I’m pretty pleased but I wouldn’t use it if you were going to be doing anything in the Sun too long or homing or anything that involves lots of sweating because mine smeared a little. While it takes some time to dry after applying, it’s pretty smudge resistant as long as it doesn’t get wet. I love the curling and volume it gives but I wish it made them look just a little thicker. I even started using this after Better Than Sex mascara for the fullness and then using this to espérate the lashes. Definitely keeping in my makeup bag!
... Read moreYou know, when I first grabbed this GZkaiqi Long Lasting Mascara from SHEIN, I was intrigued, especially for the price. But what really sealed the deal for me, and what I think makes a huge difference, is the mascara wand itself! Seriously, a good wand can make or break a mascara, no matter how great the formula is.
When you take this mascara wand with black bristles out of the mascara tube, you immediately notice its shape. It's not one of those super-fluffy, oversized wands, nor is it a tiny, spiky plastic one. It’s got a fairly classic, yet effective, bristled design that really grabs onto each individual lash. I've found that this particular design is fantastic for both coating and separating, which is exactly what I look for. I mean, nobody wants clumpy spider lashes, right? The bristles are firm enough to comb through, but soft enough to prevent tugging.
For those of you, like me, who are obsessed with getting that perfect lash separation and a good dose of volume, paying close attention to your wand is key. With the GZkaiqi, I’ve found that starting at the base of my lashes and wiggling the wand upwards slowly really helps to deposit the product evenly. This technique, combined with the wand's separating power, is how I achieve that fanned-out, volumized look that makes my eye with makeup truly pop. I even do a second, lighter coat just on the tips to extend them further.
I know the original review mentioned wishing for a little more thickness, and I totally get that! Sometimes I layer it over another mascara for that extra oomph, just like I mentioned using it after my "Better Than Sex" mascara to get that incredible fullness and then using this one to really define and separate. It’s like a secret weapon for perfecting your lash game! The wand is precise enough to get those hard-to-reach inner and outer corner lashes too, which is a big win for me.
Speaking of application, that "takes a while to dry" point? Totally true! But a little trick I’ve picked up is to apply it, then maybe do your brows or another step in your routine, and then come back for a second coat if needed. Or, try looking down slightly for a few seconds after application to minimize blinking. As for the "not sweaty-girl friendly" aspect, I’ve learned to be mindful of it. If I know I'm going to be active, I might opt for a truly waterproof formula. But for everyday wear, this mascara, thanks to its excellent wand, gives such a great look that I'm willing to work around its quirks. It’s surprisingly smudge-resistant once it does dry, as long as it doesn’t get wet.
Overall, if you're hunting for a budget-friendly mascara that delivers on volume and, crucially, lash separation, this GZkaiqi mascara from SHEIN is definitely one to consider. Don't underestimate the power of a well-designed wand – it truly makes all the difference in achieving beautiful, defined eyelashes. It's become a staple in my eye makeup routine, and I love seeing the difference it makes in my selfie camera!
