Tilly Kitchen in Chantilly, VA!

Tilly Kitchen is a small food hall located in Chantilly, VA. They only have 2 restaurants and they’re both so good! There’s a restaurant called Savory and they make all kinds of Japanese food like katsu with curry, sushi, and ramen. The other one is a cafe called Gavi Jihi (formerly known as Semicolon cafe) and they have breakfast sandwiches, various desserts, and specialty coffee. They even have lunchbox cakes if you ever need one for a celebration! My favorites so far are the bulgogi egg sandwich, vegan ramen, and the tiramisu latte. Definitely a hidden gem in Northern VA! Fun fact, it’s right across from Chateau de Chantilly!

It's not just a small food hall; it's a cozy and vibrant spot offering some seriously delicious eats that are perfect for any time of day. You might walk in expecting one thing, but you'll leave with a list of new favorites, I promise. It's quickly become one of my top recommendations in Northern VA. First up, Savory. Oh, Savory! If you're craving authentic and comforting Japanese flavors, this is absolutely your spot. I'm a huge fan of their ramen; the vegan ramen, in particular, is packed with so much umami and loaded with fresh greens – definitely a hearty and satisfying pick for a chilly day. And for those who love a classic, their chicken katsu with rice and a rich, savory curry sauce is simply perfect, offering that ideal crispy-tender texture. Beyond these, I've also explored their sushi options, with the spicy tuna rolls being a standout – always fresh, with just the right amount of kick. The menu boards above the counter are really helpful, showcasing all their tempting options, making it hard to pick just one! Then there’s Gavi Jihi, the cafe side, which is a dream for coffee lovers and anyone with a sweet tooth. They brew amazing specialty coffee, and seeing those La Colombe bags behind the counter tells you they're serious about their beans. Their breakfast sandwiches are legendary; the bulgogi sandwich is a flavor explosion, a perfect blend of savory marinated meat and fresh ingredients, and I recently tried their mushroom sandwich, which was surprisingly hearty and delicious for a meat-free option. But what really gets me are their lattes and desserts. The tiramisu latte is a creamy, dreamy delight, especially with that perfect hint of coffee and a beautiful presentation. And if you're into something sweeter, their Biscoff latte, topped with a cookie, is pure indulgence that you just have to try. They even have those cute lunchbox cakes, which are perfect for a small celebration or just treating yourself after a long week. The overall ambiance at Tilly Kitchen is just right – it’s brightly lit, modern, and has a welcoming vibe, perfect for a casual meal, a quick coffee break, or catching up with friends. It’s definitely a place where you can relax and enjoy good food without feeling rushed. It feels like a true hidden gem tucked away in Northern Virginia, offering a diverse culinary experience under one roof. Knowing it's right across from Chateau de Chantilly also makes it an ideal stop if you're exploring the area and looking for a fantastic meal or a refreshing drink. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty Japanese meal, a gourmet coffee, or a delightful pastry, Tilly Kitchen has something fantastic waiting for you. You really don't want to miss out on this incredible culinary experience!
