Blasphemy is the act of insulting, abusing, or insulting another, which is not necessarily an assertion of fact, but a manner of insulting or a shaming gesture verb.

จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวที่ได้ติดตามเรื่องกฎหมายหมิ่นประมาทและดูหมิ่น พบว่าในชีวิตประจำวัน หลายครั้งคนมักไม่ทันระวังเรื่องถ้อยคำหรือการเผยแพร่ข้อความในโซเชียลมีเดีย เช่น การแคปแชทหรือนำข้อความไปแชร์ ซึ่งหากเจตนามุ่งหมายให้ผู้อื่นเข้าใจผิด หรือทำให้ได้รับความเสียหาย ถือเป็นการกระทำที่เข้าข่าย "หมิ่นประมาท" ตามมาตรา 326 ประมวลกฎหมายอาญา ความผิดนี้แม้ว่าจะเป็นความผิดที่ยอมความได้แต่ก็ส่งผลกระทบต่อชื่อเสียงอย่างรุนแรง สิ่งที่ได้เรียนรู้คือ การระมัดระวังในการใช้คำพูดหรือโพสต์ข้อความบนโลกออนไลน์เป็นเรื่องที่สำคัญมาก เพราะถ้าโพสต์ด้วยถ้อยคำที่รุนแรงหรือมีเจตนาใส่ความ อาจเข้าข่าย "หมิ่นประมาทโดยการโฆษณา" ตามมาตรา 328 ซึ่งโทษจะสูงขึ้นจนถึงจำคุกไม่เกิน 2 ปีและปรับไม่เกิน 200,000 บาทเลยทีเดียว นอกจากนี้ กฎหมายคอมพิวเตอร์ฯ ก็เข้ามามีบทบาทสำคัญ ถ้าโพสต์ข้อมูลบิดเบือนหรือเท็จในระบบคอมพิวเตอร์ ก็อาจโดนโทษตามมาตรา 14(1) เพิ่มเติม การเข้าใจเรื่องนี้ช่วยเตือนสติให้เรานึกถึงผลกระทบที่จะเกิดขึ้นกับตนเองและผู้อื่นมากขึ้น สำหรับความผิดฐานดูหมิ่น (มาตรา 393) ต้องเป็นการด่าทอหรือเหยียดหยามต่อหน้า หรือเผยแพร่ด้วยโฆษณา เช่น การใช้คำหยาบคายต่อหน้านั้น มีโทษจำคุกไม่เกิน 1 เดือนหรือปรับสูงสุด 10,000 บาท โดยความผิดนี้ยอมความไม่ได้ซึ่งแตกต่างจากหมิ่นประมาท ในการเผชิญกับสถานการณ์ที่ถูกใส่ความหรือดูหมิ่น แนะนำให้เก็บรักษาหลักฐานอย่างรอบคอบ เช่น แคปหน้าจอข้อความต้นฉบับ รวมทั้งระบุที่มาที่ไปอย่างชัดเจน เพื่อใช้ในการปรึกษาทนายความและดำเนินคดีตามกฎหมายอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ บทเรียนสำคัญคือ กฎหมายหมิ่นประมาทและดูหมิ่นนั้นไม่ใช่เพียงแค่เรื่องทางกฎหมายเท่านั้น แต่ยังเกี่ยวข้องกับการรักษาศักดิ์ศรีและเกียรติยศของแต่ละคนในสังคม ด้วยวิธีคิดที่รอบคอบและรับผิดชอบมากขึ้นในการสื่อสารผ่านสื่อออนไลน์ จะช่วยลดความขัดแย้งและป้องกันปัญหาทางกฎหมายได้อย่างดี
