Translating the fifth chapter, he beat Mrs. Jijmavika with stillness.
The fifth chapter is about Jijmavika, an infidel priest who was used as a tool to slander the Buddha.
This is a different victory than the previous chapters, because there is no fierce elephant, no thief, no demon, no war, but a fight against the slander, lies, and misunderstandings of people.
The Pali chapter says
> Gattana Gathamudarang Iwa Cup Bhaniya
Jijaya Thutawa will be a bitch.
Santena Soomaviana Shitawa Muninto
Tantecha Bhawatu Te Chayamangalani
Translated as a whole
> The Lord overcame the sayings of Gijnja, who made a fake stick, tied it to her stomach like a pregnant woman, and slandered it among the people with calm and wisdom. May victory be for you.
---
Years after the Enlightenment, the Buddha stayed at Shetwan Cathedral in Sawatthi.
At that time, the Buddha was thriving greatly.
A huge number of people came to listen.
Kings, merchants, Brahmins and villagers offered their patronage.
Buddha's fame wandered far across the continent.
But at the same time, some priests began to lose their believers.
People who listened to them began to listen to the Buddha.
Those who gave alms began to give more to the priests.
So envy gradually formed.
One day the priests met.
They figured out how to ruin the Buddha's reputation.
But the more you think, the more you understand
Because no one found any flaws in Him.
Finally, the lowest method is chosen.
That's "making up a false story."
Among those priests was a young woman named Jijmavika.
She was beautiful in appearance, eloquent and well-known to people.
So the priests persuaded her to help destroy the Buddha's honor.
At first, she hesitated.
But finally OK.
---
From that day on, people began to notice strange behavior.
Every night, Jijnja walks carrying flowers and incense towards Shetwan Temple.
When people ask where to go,
She will smile and answer vaguely.
"Well, go where you should go."
Or
"My story. Don't ask much."
In the morning, she walked back from the same direction.
Doing this for months
Rumors began to spread.
People start gossiping.
Some people are starting to wonder.
Some people start to believe
Even without any evidence.
---
Months passed.
Jinja started making the next stage of the plan.
She brought a wooden plate to make a pregnant picture.
Use a bandage to attach to the body.
From the outside, it looks very much like a pregnant woman.
Then she waited for the beat.
---
One day, while the Buddha was performing the Dharma among many people,
The king, the rich man, the merchant, and the villagers sat and listened peacefully.
Suddenly Jinja walked through the crowd.
Everyone turned to look
She stood in front of the Buddha.
And then said loudly.
"The monk of the code!"
The whole pavilion is quiet.
"You taught others morality, but you made me pregnant."
A lot of people even exclaimed in shock.
Jinja pointed to his stomach.
And then continue.
"It's almost birth now, but you've never been responsible."
Suddenly, the gossip went all over.
Some people are shocked.
Some people are starting to wonder.
Some looked at the Buddha in a daze.
---
But in the midst of all the chaos,
The Buddha remained seated calm.
The face hasn't changed.
No anger.
There was no wavering.
There was not even an attempt to rush excuses.
He looked at Jinja.
And gently said,
"Sister, it's only you and us who know the truth."
This short sentence caused many people to start thinking.
Because he showed no signs of being caught.
But then magically calm.
---
At that moment, according to legend, angels who witnessed events could not tolerate slander.
Then transformed into a rat to bite the strap that tied the wooden plate to Jinja's stomach
Gradually the rope is torn.
Jinja doesn't know
And then suddenly,
A wooden plank hidden under the cloth also fell off the ground.
The loud "tuff!"
In front of the whole public.
Everyone immediately saw that.
No pregnant
No kids.
There's not even the slightest truth.
Only wood is used to deceive people.
---
Silence covered the area.
Then the criticism rang all around.
People who used to believe began to understand the truth.
Jija is pale.
All confidence was lost in the blink of an eye.
She can't say anything else.
before rushing away from the rally in the eyes of the people.
---
When it's all over,
The Buddha did not curse.
Not scolding
Did not punish
Not revenge.
He only continued to show righteousness as usual.
As if nothing happened.
---
This is why Paung chapter 5 raised this event as an auspicious victory.
Because sometimes the scariest enemy is not a sword bearer.
Not an elephant falling into it
Not a murderer thief.
But it's "lies" that mislead people.
And the Buddha showed that
The truth doesn't need to shout.
No need to be angry.
There's no need to fight emotionally.
When the truth is true, one day it will appear on its own.
As he won the slander of Jijmavika with peace, patience, and purity of truth to become a great victory in the Mahakas.
