TRIPLING my business income while on internship BROKE my self-beliefs
Not because the numbers themselves were life-changing, but because of what this season forced me to become.
Most people only saw the internship.
They didn’t see the client work after office hours, the late night editing, the constant struggle of trying to stay on the ball, or the days where I genuinely didn’t feel like doing anything after work.
Balancing work, business, content, gym, relationships, and rest at the same time forced me to grow up fast.
This internship made me realise how valuable time actually is.
Once your weekdays are occupied, you become very aware of what truly matters to you, what drains you, and what kind of future you actually want to build for yourself.
I think one of the biggest mindset shifts for me was realising that motivation is unreliable.
A lot of growth happens on the days where you’re tired, mentally drained, unmotivated, and still choose to keep going anyway.
I’m still nowhere near where I want to be yet.
But younger me would probably be proud that I kept building despite all the self-doubt.
Nobody is coming to save you.
The life you want is built in the hours when you’re tired, busy, and unmotivated.
Going through an intense season like this internship truly shifts your perspective on time and personal growth. From my experience, the biggest lesson was learning to prioritize tasks that align with long-term goals rather than seeking immediate motivation. The late nights spent editing and the client work after office hours revealed the reality that success doesn’t come from bursts of inspiration but from consistent effort, especially when motivation is low. Balancing multiple responsibilities such as work, business, content creation, gym, relationships, and rest tested my limits but also accelerated my growth. I realized that discipline is what fuels progress—doing the small things routinely even when no one is watching. This internship forced me to confront self-doubt head-on and reminded me that nobody is going to rescue you; you have to take ownership of your future. Moreover, managing limited time during weekdays helped me identify what truly matters and what drains energy unnecessarily. This clarity allowed me to focus on quality over quantity in my business efforts and personal life. The hard truth is that growth often happens in uncomfortable moments when you’re tired, mentally drained, or unmotivated—but those are the moments that shape the life and business you want. If you’re juggling multiple roles like I was, embracing this mindset shift—valuing discipline over motivation and learning to prioritize like your time depends on it—can be a game-changer. It’s not about being perfect every day but about showing up and building momentum, especially through the tough days. My journey continues, but this experience has laid a foundation of resilience and focus that I believe any aspiring entrepreneur or busy professional can benefit from.
