What made this workshop particularly engaging was the collaboration between NTU MarvelClub@EEE and NUS GDG, which brought together enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds sharing a passion for pixel art.
The live-streamed format offered a unique advantage: I could interact in real time with the instructors and fellow participants through the chat, making it feel almost like an in-person session despite being online. One memorable moment was when Marchan encouraged everyone to add accessories to their creations, fostering creativity beyond simple pixel designs.
A highlight of the workshop was learning how to create basic non-idle animations using keyframes and smears. This technique added dynamic movement to pixel art characters, such as animating an 'Among Us' character, which was a favorite among attendees. The step-by-step guidance made what initially seemed complex very accessible.
I also appreciated the supportive environment where sharing screenshots and artwork was encouraged, which helped me stay motivated even when I had to briefly step away. The use of tools like ASUS Zenbook for screen sharing made technical participation seamless.
Overall, this workshop has inspired me to continue exploring pixel art with greater confidence. Whether you are a beginner or looking to enhance your digital art skills, engaging in such collaborative and interactive workshops can greatly enrich your artistic journey. I look forward to more events like this that combine learning, creativity, and community spirit.
