I think about this sometimes. What I would go back and say to the version of me who was exhausted and overwhelmed and quietly convinced that this was just how life was going to feel from here.
I would tell her to stop waiting until she felt ready. Ready is not a feeling that shows up before you start. It shows up after.
I would tell her that her story is not something to be embarrassed about. It is the exact thing that is going to connect her with the women she is supposed to help. The mess is the message.
I would tell her that the slow season is not a sign it is not working. It is just the part nobody posts about. Keep going anyway.
I would tell her that she is not too late, too old, too tech challenged, too busy, or too far behind. She is exactly where she needs to be to start.
And I would tell her that the version of herself on the other side of saying yes is someone she is really going to like.

Building a wellness business is often portrayed as glamorous and smooth, but the reality is much different. From my own experience, there are phases of exhaustion and doubt that can make you question if you’re on the right path. One thing I’ve learned is that waiting to feel ready only delays progress; readiness comes through action, not before it. It’s crucial to accept where you are in your journey—whether you’re feeling behind or not technically savvy enough, these are simply challenges you can overcome with persistence. The phrase “the mess is the message” resonates deeply with me. Your personal story, including struggles and setbacks, is what builds genuine connections with your audience. Instead of hiding imperfections, sharing them authentically can inspire and empower others facing similar challenges. The slow seasons—times when growth seems stagnant—are often invisible in social media highlights but are essential periods for reflection and foundation building. Staying consistent during these times fortifies your business for future success. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking it’s too late or you’re too busy; many of us juggle multiple responsibilities but still find ways to grow. Embracing imperfection and continuing despite uncertainty will shape a stronger, more relatable version of yourself. The person you become by choosing to say yes and move forward is one you will be proud of. If you’re in the wellness field or considering it, remember this isn’t just a business—it’s a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Keep going, and you’ll find that the version of you who persisted is truly worth celebrating.
