What I wish I was gifted after having two births

Nothing is more exciting than seeing and getting all the baby stuff for your new baby! I loved creating a registry and celebrating our babes at any moment. After having two births I wanted to share a few things I wish people would have gifted us that I now gift to others! I deeply believe in holding the mother before you hold the baby. Of course the new baby is exciting and sweet but the mother goes through such an extreme life changing experience, I feel like society as a whole needs to provide more support! If you are thinking about what you might want gifted to you or what you want to gift to others I suggest these unique gifts!

🎁 Disposable underwear: Regardless of if the birth is by c-section or vaginal these are a life saver! They are so comfortable, stretchy, and are great for recovery since you can just toss them! These are the underwear the hospital will use to create you “diaper” if you have a vaginal birth to hold your ice packs and such.

🎁 Comfy robe and/or pants: I wish I had gotten a robe or some comfy loose pants. After having a baby you might not want to be in pre baby clothes that are too tight while pregnancy clothes might be too big. Getting something you can heal in is essential.

🎁 I wish I had received some frozen meals! It would have made cooking for myself when my man was at work so much easier. Especially in those first few weeks of learning to be a mom you might forget to properly feed yourself or find yourself too tired to make something. Meals that can be made and frozen are so helpful. Or just make something and take it over so mama doesn’t have to!

🎁 Postpartum essentials: A long with disposable underwear I think postpartum essentials are some of the best gifts you can give. Like ice packs, dermiplast, witch hazel wipes, pads, etc. These will help take the burden off getting extra supplies when it’s time to leave the hospital!

🎁 Experience gifts: Gifting a family a newborn session or new family photo session is so so special! To be able to gift those first family moments is an amazing gift that will be cherished forever. Other experience gifts could be just for mom or mom and dad to be able to enjoy themselves after baby is here and they deserve some alone time.

🎁 A parenting book: For me specifically, I would have loved a parenting book based on milestones so I knew what my baby would be up based on his age. I think parenting books are a great way to help people prepare for the future of their baby!

🎁 A clean home: I think cleaning someone’s home judgement free before they leave and come home from the hospital is one of the kindest things you can do for someone. Birthing and bringing home a new baby is already nerve wrenching enough, giving a helping hand can relieve more stress than you could imagine.

Why are some things you’d want gifted!? What gifts were you given that made a worlds of difference?!🥰

... Read moreWhen welcoming a new baby, it's important to prioritize the well-being of the mother as well. Beyond the usual baby gifts, consider items that promote recovery and mental wellness. Disposable underwear is a necessity for new moms, offering comfort after birth. A cozy robe or loose-fitting pants can help her feel more comfortable during recovery while providing ease for nursing. Frozen meals are invaluable for busy new parents; meals that can be quickly heated save time and stress while ensuring nourishment. It's equally essential to think of postpartum essentials—items like ice packs and soothing creams can truly make a difference in recovery. Experience gifts, such as family photography sessions, help capture precious moments while giving parents some much-needed relaxation, creating cherished memories. Parenting books tailored to milestones can guide new parents through the early stages with confidence. Lastly, offering to clean their home can significantly reduce their stress during this busy transition. Supporting new mothers is vital, as they need care just as much as their newborns do!
