Rainy summer day activity for kids!

The rain has been keeping us inside so I decided to use what we had to make my boys an inside obstacle course! We recently bought some balance beams my boys have been loving so of course that had to be included! We have hopscotch rings, and a tunnel that we’ve had for forever. I set the obstacle course up throughout the living room, demonstrated how to do it, turned on some music, and then let my boys get to it!

This kept them busy for over 30 minutes and loved going around and around! The best part is the course will never be the same and the options to change it up are practically limitless! I would highly suggest getting some obstacle course like toys to set up for your kids!

I can’t wait to use this more often and to take it outside for them to use on summer days too!🥰🥰

... Read moreRainy days can often lead to boredom for kids, but with a little creativity, you can turn your living room into an exciting indoor obstacle course. Start by gathering items you already have, such as balance beams, hopscotch rings, and tunnels. Not only does this provide a chance for physical activity, but it also encourages problem-solving and motor skill development as kids navigate the course. Consider rotating the elements of the course each time you set it up to keep things fresh and engaging. You can even include fun challenges, such as racing against the clock or performing specific tasks at each station. To further enhance the experience, involve your children in designing the course layout—this promotes teamwork and can lead to innovative configurations. Additionally, this activity is not limited to rainy days. When the weather permits, you can take your obstacle course outside. This transition not only provides more space but also allows for natural obstacles like trees and garden furniture to be incorporated into the course, adding a new layer of interest and excitement. Lastly, encourage imaginative play by inviting your children to come up with themes or stories for their obstacle course adventures. Whether it’s a jungle expedition or a superhero mission, such narratives can spark creativity while they enjoy physical challenges. With this approach, rainy days will transform into opportunities for fun and learning!
