Hey fellow trainers! I know many of you are out there, just like me, trying to complete your Ghost-type collection or snag that elusive shiny Gastly. From my own adventures, I've gathered some tips and tricks that might help you on your quest to catch this adorable yet spooky Pokémon in Pokémon Go. First off, where do you even find Gastly in the wild? I've noticed Gastly loves to appear more often at night, especially around parks, residential areas, or even cemeteries (if you're brave enough to venture out!). Keep an eye on your in-game weather too; if it's foggy, Gastly and other Ghost-type Pokémon get a significant spawn boost, making it the perfect time to go hunting. I remember one foggy evening, my screen was just full of them – it was like a mini Gastly party! Now, for all you shiny hunters out there, how do you get a shiny Gastly? It's mostly about persistence and luck! Gastly's shiny form is a beautiful blue, and it's definitely a prized catch. I usually try to participate in any in-game events that feature Ghost-type Pokémon, as these often come with increased shiny rates. Community Days or special Halloween events are your best bet, so always keep an eye on the official announcements. During these events, I make sure my 'Poké Ball powered up!' and I'm ready to tap on every Gastly I see! Beyond wild spawns, research tasks are another fantastic way to encounter Gastly. I've often seen 'Catch X Ghost-type Pokémon' or 'Make X Great Throws' tasks reward a Gastly encounter. Remember that 'Bonus Challenge! Catch Gastly!' I recently completed? That was from a special research chain! Always check your '3 Research Tasks Updated' daily; you never know when you'll find a Gastly waiting for you as a reward. It's like a guaranteed encounter without relying purely on luck. Once you've caught enough Gastly, you'll want to evolve it into its more powerful forms. It takes 25 Gastly candies to evolve into Haunter, and then another 100 candies to get the powerful Gengar. My pro tip for saving candy: Gengar also has a special trade evolution requirement! If you trade a Haunter with a friend, it will evolve into Gengar for free (no candy cost!). This is super cool, and I've used it many times to save up those precious candies for other evolutions. It's so satisfying to see 'Gotcha!' and then watch that evolution animation! Finally, why is Gengar so useful? Gengar is an absolute beast in raids and PvP, especially with its Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball moveset. It's one of my go-to Ghost-type attackers, capable of dishing out massive damage.
