8 days off to being sick but back to the grind back to square 1 💯🙏
Monday- 🦵 day
Taking time off due to illness can be frustrating, especially when you’re committed to a fitness routine. I recently experienced an eight-day break from training, which felt like starting over from scratch. However, I realized that rest is crucial for recovery, and pushing too hard too soon can delay progress. Returning to the gym with a focused leg day was my way of regaining control and renewing my motivation. Leg day workouts, involving exercises like squats, lunges, and deadlifts, are essential for building strength and overall endurance. After a pause, it’s important to listen to your body and ease into the routine gradually to avoid injury. I found that prioritizing proper form over heavy weights helped rebuild confidence and prevent strain. Interestingly, I found some motivation in music during workouts. The song "Shine Again" by Weezer became a personal anthem, reminding me to keep pushing and shine despite setbacks. Music can be a powerful motivator when recovering from challenges. Remember, progress isn’t always linear. Taking time to heal, then returning with intention, can set you up for long-term success. If you’re coming back after an illness, give yourself grace, set realistic goals, and celebrate every small victory on the journey back to fitness.
