4 Steps To Become a Paid Content Creator, FOR FREE

I didn’t have a following. I didn’t have a camera. I literally just had my laptop, some coffee, and ✨delulu✨ levels of belief that I could figure this out.

If you’ve seen creators getting paid WITHOUT being influencers—it’s real. And way more accessible than people think👏🏼

Here’s EXACTLY how I started (for $0):

📧 1. Create a biz email

Treat content like a BUSINESS (because it is!). I made a Gmail like “yourname@gmail.com” so I could chat with brands —without using the email I made in 8th grade that ends in “xoxo 😅”

It’s free, fast, and instantly more professional. ✅

🎨 2. Make a Canva portfolio

Opened a free Canva account (yes, FREE), searched “Portfolio Template” and boom—so many aesthetic options. I actually couldn't believe how much is accessible at no additional cost.

I used products I already had, filmed a few mock videos, and dropped them in the Canva template to show off my personality and capabilities. 👩🏻‍💻

✨ Pro-tip: customize the fonts, colors, and layout to feel like YOU!

🐤 3. Create a UGC X (old Twitter) account

This is where the collabs happen. I made a new X account with “UGC” in my name and bio, followed other creators, and within a week, my feed was full of brands looking to pay creators.

Personally, the apps that connect brands to creators never pays what other, direct partnerships pay. So head for X!

💬 4. Start getting those JOBS!

Every time I saw “Looking for UGC creators,” I dropped my Canva link + a short blurb on why I’d be a fit.

Was I nervous? Yep. Did anyone care? Nope. 🤪

And within 2 weeks, a brand DM’d me—and PAID me for my first video 🥹✨ ($150 for a 35 second fashion video)

You don’t need a following or professional camera.

⚡️ Still want to level up? Grab a tripod + Softbox light on Amazon. Still affordable, BIG difference.

Now I do UGC full-time, make more than I did at my 9–5, and actually love what I do 🫶

Drop your questions below👇 I’m happy to help! ◡̈
