What does a Trusted Risk & Legacy Advisor actually do?
A large part of my work happens before and after the appointment.
I prepare financial education that makes complicated topics easier to understand. I help families review income protection, mortgage protection, final expenses and other needs that could affect the people they love.
I also help individuals think beyond simply saving money by discussing retirement-income goals, old workplace accounts, rollover options and how their resources may work together over time.
The work does not stop after one conversation. Following up, answering questions and helping people understand their next step are all part of serving well.
Protection is not only about purchasing a policy. It is also about organizing important information, reviewing beneficiaries, clarifying priorities and creating a plan that reflects real life.
My goal is not to pressure families into making a decision. It is to provide education, clarity and options so they can move forward with confidence.
Which area of your financial life needs more clarity right now: protection, retirement or getting organized?

Clients often tell me that confusing jargon and the overwhelming number of financial products create barriers to making confident decisions. That's why I prioritize education first—breaking down life insurance, mortgage protection, and retirement basics into relatable information so families can actually understand and act on it.
A key insight I've gained is that protection is not just about securing a policy. It’s about understanding what truly matters to each family member and organizing their financial paperwork accordingly. Reviewing beneficiaries, clarifying priorities, and ensuring that final-expense coverage aligns with their values are vital steps that often get overlooked without expert assistance.
Retirement planning is another area where many clients feel unsure. I help them explore their old workplace retirement accounts, evaluate rollover options, and set intentional income goals that fit their life plans. It’s rewarding to see clients move from confusion to clarity as they understand how these resources work together over time to support them.
Importantly, my work doesn’t end after the initial meeting. Continuous follow-up helps people feel supported and informed as they navigate decisions at their own pace. Many appreciate knowing that questions are always welcome and that I’m there as a trusted partner, not just a one-time advisor.
Ultimately, this role is about much more than financial products—it’s about building trust, providing clarity, and empowering families to protect what matters most. If you are currently feeling uncertain about whether your protection, retirement, or organization strategies are adequate, working with a trusted advisor who prioritizes education and ongoing support can be a game changer.
