An Echo Chamber is a situation or environment in which people are aware of the same set of information, opinions, or beliefs over and over again that they form the most accurate truth, separating themselves from other sets of information, causing a "bowler" to close to different opinions.
Birth points and causes of Echo Chamber:
Social Media / Algorithms: Platforms such as Facebook, Tikka will often show what the user is interested in or like, allowing us to see only one side of the data.
Thought Bias: Humans are more likely to pick up information that matches their original beliefs.
Social / political dichotomy: A swarming of like-thinking people occurs, separating parties, making extreme views and lacking compassion for others.
Impact:
Confirmation Bias
Reduce exposure to diversity and block learning new things.
Causing extreme divisions in society.
Solution: Must open up to a wide range of information, monitor information from multiple sources, and try to hear conflicting views.

จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัว การติดตามเรื่องราวการเมืองในยุคโซเชียลมีเดียทำให้ผมรู้สึกเหมือนเข้าไปอยู่ในละครลิงที่มีเสียงสะท้อน (Echo Chamber) ซ้ำซากวนอยู่รอบตัว ซึ่งมักจะเป็นข้อมูลหรือมุมมองเดียวกันจนทำให้ผมเกิดความคิดยึดติดและลืมตรวจสอบความจริงรอบด้านไปด้วย ผมเคยสังเกตตัวเองและคนรอบข้าง ที่มักจะกดไลก์หรือแชร์ข้อมูลที่ตรงกับความเชื่อเดิมโดยไม่ทันระวัง เหมือนการตักน้ำแกงกินติดซอกฟัน (ตามคำพูดใน OCR) ที่เมื่อกินไปนานๆ จะมีเศษเหลืออยู่และส่งผลเสียต่อสุขภาพในภายหลัง การรับข้อมูลเดียวซ้ำๆ ก็เหมือนกัน มันทำให้เราหลงศรัทธาแต่ในมุมมองเดิม ลดทอนความสามารถในการรับฟังความเห็นต่างซึ่งอาจช่วยขยายมุมมองและเสริมสร้างภูมิปัญญา คำแนะนำของผมคือการลองเปลี่ยนวิธีเสพข่าวสารโดยการตั้งใจหาข้อมูลจากหลายแหล่งที่มีความคิดหลากหลาย เพราะบางครั้งเราสามารถเรียนรู้จากความเห็นที่ขัดแย้งกับตัวเองได้โดยไม่จำเป็นต้องเปลี่ยนความเชื่อหลัก แต่เพื่อเสริมสร้างสติปัญญาและป้องกันไม่ให้ตัวเองหลงไปกับข้อมูลบิดเบือน นอกจากนี้ผมยังแนะนำให้ฝึกโยนิโสมนสิการ คือคิดอย่างรอบด้าน หลายทาง เพื่อไม่ตกเป็นเหยื่อของ GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out) การที่รับข้อมูลขยะมาก็จะส่งผลให้คิดและตัดสินใจผิดพลาดเหมือนงานที่ทำออกมาได้ไม่ดีแน่นอน สุดท้ายผมคิดว่าการเข้าใจและตระหนักถึงภาวะ Echo Chamber ช่วยให้เราสามารถนำสติปัญญามาใช้กับการเสพข่าวสาร โดยไม่ถูกครอบงำด้วยอารมณ์หรือแรงกระตุ้นจากสื่อ ทำให้เราเปลี่ยนจากความรู้สึก FOMO (กลัวตกข่าว) เป็น JOMO (ความสุขของการละเว้น) ได้อย่างแท้จริง และมีความสงบสุขใจมากขึ้นในการใช้ชีวิตในโลกดิจิทัลยุคนี้
