ในชีวิตประจำวัน ผมพบว่าความคิดมักวิ่งวนในหัวเราเหมือนกับลิงในป่า ไม่ว่าจะเรื่องราวที่ทำให้เครียด หวาดกลัว หรือแม้กระทั่งความโลภและโกรธ ความรู้สึกเหล่านี้เหมือน ‘จิตลิง’ ที่ไม่เคยหยุดพัก การที่บทเพลงนี้ใช้คำว่า 'ขังลิงใส่สมอง' เปรียบเทียบความคิดปั่นป่วนเหล่านี้ได้อย่างลึกซึ้งและตรงใจมาก ผมได้ลองใช้วิธีฝึกสติและการเฝ้าดูลมหายใจ เพื่อลดกิจกรรมของความคิดซึ่งนำไปสู่ความสงบภายในเหมือนที่เพลงกล่าวไว้ว่า “เหมือนจับลิงมานั่งนิ่ง” ซึ่งในตอนแรกก็ยากไม่น้อย เพราะจิตใจของเรามักจะดื้อและขาดสมาธิ แต่พอผ่านไประยะหนึ่ง ความคิดที่เคยหลากหลายเริ่มสงบลง เหมือนใจที่ได้พักผ่อนจริง ๆ นอกจากนี้ เพลงยังสะท้อนให้เห็นว่า ‘อดีต’ คือสิ่งที่ไม่ควรยึดติด เพราะมันทำให้ใจ ‘อึดอัด’ และเกิดความทุกข์ใจเรื้อรัง การปล่อยวางอดีตและล้างจิตใจคือกุญแจสำคัญในการฝึกจิตใจให้สงบและมีความสุขมากขึ้น จากประสบการณ์ตรง การฝึกจิตใจแบบนี้ช่วยลดความเครียดได้อย่างมาก ทำให้เราสามารถโฟกัสกับปัจจุบันและรับมือกับปัญหาชีวิตได้ดีขึ้นมาก ทั้งยังช่วยสร้างสมาธิที่มั่นคง และทำให้เราเข้าใจตัวเองได้มากขึ้นว่าความคิดนั้นเป็นเพียง ‘ลิง’ ที่ต้องเรียนรู้วิธีควบคุม ไม่ใช่สิ่งที่เราต้องเชื่อหรือปล่อยให้ครอบงำชีวิต ถ้าคุณรู้สึกว่าความคิดของตัวเองวุ่นวายและยากจะควบคุม เพลงนี้พร้อมชวนให้มองลึกไปถึงจิตใจและทดลองวิธีฝึกจิตใจให้สงบอย่างง่าย ๆ ที่สามารถนำไปใช้ในชีวิตประจำวันได้จริง ความสงบใจไม่ได้หมายความว่าต้องไร้ความรู้สึก แต่อาจหมายถึงการอยู่ร่วมกับความคิดเหล่านั้นอย่างมีสติ และเฝ้าดูพวกมันอย่างเมตตาเหมือนที่เราเฝ้าดูลมหายใจของตัวเอง
