Has anyone ever encountered a strange question from HR?

A company contacted me for a job interview and discussed the usual preliminary details.

While talking, HR asked if you were studying now. Like you saw the details we filled out, didn't you have a bachelor's degree?

We answered honestly that we are studying for a master's degree (we have since here, because we are very clear).

HR says that the company does not accept people who are studying because they are afraid that they will affect the job, have to take a leave, take a leave of absence, or have other burdens. Here we can understand, because it is the policy of each company.

But we further explained that...

The courses we study are "100% online."

* Do not attend university

* Choose your own study time

* Can choose the exam date yourself

* Does not affect work time

I think this explanation should understand.

But HR replied...

"But I don't understand."

"Why are you studying?"

"Why study?"

Then in my head was... 🤔

Seriously, this is a question not thought to be heard from HR workers at all.

We normally say that we want to develop knowledge, increase skills and build on future opportunities.

HR just said,

"Oh, okay, I'll be in touch."

And then ended up confused

I mean, if the company has a policy of not accepting people who are studying, this is the right of the company.

But the question "Why study?" This makes me very stunned. 😂

Because in our corner, studying to improve ourselves seems very normal.

Therefore secretly wondering...

Or am I the only one who feels this question is strange? 😅
