SUZHOU ITINERARY (i love this place✨😍)

Half an hour on a train 🚊 and you’re in a completely different world. I honestly fell in love with Suzhou, and I just had to share why.

POV: You took a 30-minute ride and stumbled into another life. Shanghai has the lights and the energy, but Suzhou? Suzhou has the soul. 🏮

It’s the breath of fresh air I didn’t know I needed. No rushing, no city traffic (okay, maybe some “human traffic” instead! 😂), just ancient canals and quiet corners where you can actually sit and enjoy your tea. 🍵

I’m truly loving this little city right beside Shanghai. 🌞 It’s a must-visit if you’re here, or at least the perfect excuse to come back for another trip.

Suzhou

... Read moreHaving spent a delightful day exploring Suzhou, I can wholeheartedly say it offers a unique blend of cultural richness and peaceful scenery that's hard to find elsewhere. Just a half-hour train ride from Shanghai, this city feels like stepping back in time with its ancient canals and tranquil tea spots. One of my favorite experiences was visiting Tiger Hill, home to a leaning pagoda that resembles the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa—a truly fascinating site surrounded by stunning cherry blossom-lined canals perfect for a leisurely walk. Another highlight was the Xiyuan Jiedang Temple, which more than just a religious site. It felt incredibly calming, helped by the presence of gentle cats wandering the grounds and the amazing vegetarian food served there—particularly their noodles and handmade buns, which were some of the best meals I've had in China. For a modern twist amidst the traditional charm, the Wanxiang Tiandi mall is a must-stop. It's an Instagrammable spot with eye-catching architecture and incredible local finds, plus a café offering what I believe to be the best bubble tea I've ever tasted—mochi taro milk tea. In the evening, exploring the Qili Shantang night market was a sensory delight. Packed with lively energy and tempting street food stalls, I tried unique local delicacies like pan-fried buns with prawns and braised pig trotters. The glutinous rice dumplings wrapped with salted egg yolk quickly became my favorite snack of the trip. Overall, Suzhou offers a refreshing break from the fast pace of Shanghai with its soulful atmosphere, historic sites, and friendly locals. Whether you enjoy cultural landmarks, serene walks along canals, or delicious food, Suzhou is a charming city that deserves more attention on any China itinerary.
