Day before my bunion surgery

Tomorrow is surgery day 🤍

I’m getting bunion surgery, and I wanted to bring you guys along through this healing journey. Today I’m prepping by removing my nail polish, organizing all my post-op essentials, and getting everything ready to make recovery a little easier.

Please be patient with me while I heal — I may not be posting as much, but I’ll share updates when I can. Thank you for all the love and support already 🫶✨

... Read morePreparing for bunion surgery can feel overwhelming, but taking the time to organize your post-operative essentials really helps make the recovery period more manageable. From personal experience, packing items like extra pillows for foot elevation, easy-to-wear slippers, and lightweight comfortable clothing can improve your comfort dramatically. On the day before surgery, I also removed my nail polish to allow the medical team to monitor circulation and comfort during the procedure, a small but necessary step shared by many preparing for foot surgeries. I found that having a designated recovery space with all necessities within arm’s reach minimized stress after surgery. Emotional preparation matters just as much as physical readiness. I made sure to communicate openly with friends and family about my recovery timeline so they could offer support and patience. Keeping a journal to document pain levels, healing progress, and daily thoughts turned out to be very therapeutic and helpful for tracking improvements. In addition, staying hydrated and getting a good night’s sleep before surgery are simple but effective ways to support the healing process. If you’re going through a similar journey, consider setting small recovery goals and celebrating them — it really kept me motivated during tougher days. Remember, every healing journey is unique, and it’s important to listen to your body and consult with your healthcare team regularly. Sharing your experiences in forums like #BunionSurgery and #HealingJourney can connect you to others who understand what you’re going through, providing a community of encouragement and advice.

ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR BODY: surgery recovery ❤️‍🩹
Your body is always speaking—listen. A few months ago, I underwent vaginal surgery after months of pain that was constantly dismissed. Doctors told me it was “just irritation” or “probably an STD or BV (it wasn’t). But I knew something wasn’t right. I advocated for myself, pushed for testing, a

I’m seriously considering bunion surgery, but I have so many questions. Have you or someone you know gone through it? I’d love to hear: • Where you got it done and how much it cost 💸 • How was the surgery itself? Pain level? • What was the recovery/post-op like?

@Lemon8 Career Because sterile processing is the backbone of surgery. While the OR gets all the spotlight, we’re the ones making sure every tool is sterile, safe, and ready for the next procedure. What I do daily may look repetitive — but it’s life-saving. Here’s what it really means to
