I wanted to share more about how I brought this amazing character to life, especially for anyone looking to try their own Vaggie cosplay. Getting her iconic look just right is all about the details, and I learned so much along the way. First up, let's talk Vaggie makeup. This was probably the most complex part but also the most rewarding. The key elements are her striking red eye patch and that dramatic, dark eyeliner. For the eye patch, I used a combination of fabric and rigid felt, carefully shaped to fit my face comfortably. For the eye makeup, I opted for a super pigmented black liquid liner to create those sharp, winged lines that define her eyes, paired with some dark eyeshadow to give it depth. Don't forget a good primer to make sure it lasts all day at a busy convention! I also used a pale foundation to get that slightly ethereal, angelic-demon look. Next, the Vaggie wig. Finding the perfect white wig with the right length and volume was crucial. I spent a lot of time searching for one that wasn't too shiny and had a natural flow. Once I had it, I gave it a good trim to match Vaggie's style and used a bit of hairspray to keep it in place, especially for those dynamic poses. The red bow in her hair is a simple but essential detail; I made sure it was securely attached so it wouldn't budge during all the walking and photo ops. Crafting the Vaggie costume definitely took some planning. While my current outfit was a simpler red top and skirt combo, I’m planning to upgrade to her more detailed dress in the future! For this Katsucon, I focused on accuracy in the accessories. The small golden accessories on her outfit were either purchased or crafted from foam and painted. Getting the right fabric for her dress if you're making one from scratch is important – something with a bit of drape but still holds its shape. And of course, incorporating a fun prop like my rubber duck added a unique touch that got a lot of smiles! It was a fun way to interact with other cosplayers and break character just a little. When it comes to Vaggie full body presentation, posing is everything. I tried to channel her confident yet slightly wary demeanor. Whether standing tall with arms crossed, as you might see in some of my photos, or interacting with fellow Hazbin Hotel cosplayers or even a giant Gengar, embodying her personality makes the costume shine. I loved posing in front of the arcade claw machines and outdoors, really making the most of the Katsucon backdrops. My experience at Katsucon as Vaggie was unforgettable. It’s such an inspiring place where everyone celebrates their passion for cosplay. Seeing so many incredible Hazbin Hotel cosplayers and getting to interact with them made all the hard work worthwhile. If you're thinking about cosplaying Vaggie, I highly recommend it! It’s a fantastic character to portray, and there are so many ways to make the costume your own.
