🌿 Let God Be My Standard
There was a time when I found myself glancing sideways, quietly comparing my journey to that of others. It’s so easy to think, “At least I’m not like them.” But the Spirit gently reminded me — comparison is not the measure of holiness. It’s a counterfeit form of righteousness.
True holiness is not about looking better than someone else. It’s about becoming more like Him. It’s about surrender — about allowing the Savior to shape, soften, and purify even the hidden places no one else can see.
I realized that when I measured my growth by others’ shortcomings, I was only feeding pride instead of grace. Pride whispers that we’re “good enough” as long as someone else seems worse. But grace invites us to look inward — and upward — to see how much more we can become through Jesus Christ.
When my focus turned from others to Him, conviction began to replace comparison. The Lord started working within me, not to make me appear holy, but to help me become holy — from the inside out.
Holiness, I’m learning, isn’t a competition. It’s a surrender. 🤍🙏🏻
