with the end of school right around the corner, I thought i'd make a post for new college students in the fall :) college can seem pretty daunting in high school, especially if you're planning on dorming, but the best thing you can do to help lower anxiety is to prepare what to expect, so here are some skills I would definitely recommend picking up before heading to college:
🌟Time Management Skills - so many things require your time and attention, but learning how to balance things and remove what is not scary in your schedule is important to know.
🌟Financial Literacy - for many, money tends to be tighter in college, so learning how to budget and spend your money wisely is a must
🌟Stress Management - with pressure from every direction, it's hard to stay afloat. learning how to regulate the stress you feel is important to prevent burnout and poor mental and physical health

I know firsthand how challenging it can be to balance academics, a social life, and managing your finances, all while living independently for the first time. First off, I found that incorporating mindfulness and breathing exercises into my daily routine was a game-changer for managing immediate stress. There are tons of free apps that guide you through simple anti-anxiety techniques.
