One small habit can change your body

I recently learned about cortisol, your body’s main stress hormone. High cortisol doesn’t directly stop fat loss, but it can indirectly make your progress feel slower.

Things like drinking caffeine on an empty stomach, not sleeping enough, and constantly stressing out can raise cortisol levels. And when cortisol is high, you might get more cravings, feel more tired, sleep worse, and even hold onto more water… which makes it look like you’re not changing.

So managing stress isn’t just good for your mind, it actually helps your body show the results you’re working for.

For me, I honestly didn’t realise how much stress and little habits were affecting my progress. Once I started sleeping better, eating before caffeine, and calming down a bit, I actually felt and looked better. It’s small changes, but they really helped me 🤞🏼🤓

Stay stress free 🩷

... Read moreManaging cortisol isn't just about reducing stress mentally; it has real physical benefits that many overlook. For instance, I started paying closer attention to my daily routines, such as avoiding caffeine on an empty stomach and ensuring I get enough restful sleep. These habits helped me reduce cravings and improve my energy levels throughout the day. An interesting fact I learned is that elevated cortisol levels can cause your body to retain water, which can mask fat loss progress. This was eye-opening because sometimes despite efforts in diet and exercise, the scale doesn’t shift as expected because of this water retention. Incorporating calming practices like meditation or deep breathing exercises also contributed to a noticeable improvement in my sleep quality and overall mood. Over time, these small yet powerful changes enhanced my fitness journey without the need for intense exercise routines. If you’re feeling stuck in your progress, I recommend starting by identifying little habits that stress your body unnecessarily and replacing them with nurturing ones. Sometimes, the simplest habit like adjusting when and how you drink coffee or prioritizing sleep can change your body and mind more than you expect.

Tiny habits changed how I live 📖✨
This book reminded me that success isn’t about motivation — it’s about systems. You don’t rise to your goals, you fall to your habits. I stopped chasing big changes. I started fixing small actions: • 10 mins reading instead of “one day I’ll read” • Showing up even when I don’t feel like it
