The Breakthrough Blemish Kit contains three things to combat acne: Blemish Breakthrough Acne Clarifying Cleanser with 1% salicylic acid, niacinamide, and zinc, Blemish Breakthrough Triple-Acid Resurfacing Serum with 8.5% triple-acid complex and 10% niacinamide, and the Blemish Breakthrough Stick it to Zits hydrocolloid pimple patches.
I’ve talked before about how all of these types of products are fantastic at combatting acne. If my acne is being especially stubborn, I will switch to a cleanser that is meant to target acne like this one (I don’t use it everyday because these types of cleansers can also dry out skin and I have a dry leaning skin type. This cleanser also suggests to only apply to effected areas). I don’t use the exfoliating serum at the same time as the cleanser, since salicylic acid is a BHA, and stacking acids can lead to irritated skin. So I make sure to use a gentle cleanser with no actives before using the resurfacing serum. I really liked this one, when I made sure to be careful with what I used with it, my skin handled it well, and I have a sensitive skin type. Lastly I love pimple patches for especially stubborn and painful hormonal acne. If your pimples are refusing to heal for multiple days or it hurts, apply a patch overnight and it will help pull the gunk to the top and speed up healing. Definitely was happy with all three of these products!
