why i don’t want to buy a home🏡🧺
this might be a hot take but i’m not looking to own a home at the moment & im content w that! in my area owning is actually so insanely expensive for not a lot of space as well as the fact that a lot of these homes are older than me😂 (& yes some of these homes may have just the kitchen renovated or the bathrooms but a lot of the time they need a serious facelift) i’m also not really wanting to stay where i live forever & would like to own elsewhere! there’s definitely a pressure to sink a lot of money into these homes & do renovations because a lot of them are stuck in the 90s. another reason i’m not looking to own at the moment is i also enjoy having the comfort of god forbid needing to replace something i.e. the fridge, the washer & dryer, etc. that im not responsible for replacing those items. its also nice as well to not be responsible for maintaining the upkeep of the outside of a home like the lawn, the mulch, & flowers. eventually one day i will own a home & i would love to have that amazing responsibility! however, at the age of 23 right now i just know financially & mentally id like to prepare myself a bit more to be in that position.
