Day 4 post-surgery:
Yesterday, a quick follow-up with the doctor's office showed that the surgery went well, according to my orthopedic's feedback, which is a blessing🙏🏻💯. We’ll keep the cast on till this Friday, so it’ll be a whole week of recovery and protection of the arm, and then we will proceed with the following steps😁.
I'm back to work tomorrow on light active duty. It’s been good to take a day's rest, but I'm ready to move around, get some steps in, and take everything nice and easy.
Thank you to all who have been helpful, providing food, words of encouragement, and prayers during this time of healing and recovery 🙏🏻🫶🏼.

Recovering from surgery is a gradual process that requires patience and mindful care. Keeping the cast on for a full week, as advised by orthopedic specialists, is crucial to ensuring proper healing and preventing any setbacks during the early stages. During this period, managing discomfort with prescribed medications and elevating the limb when possible can reduce swelling and facilitate faster recovery. Resuming light activities, such as gentle walking or arm movement exercises recommended by your healthcare provider, helps to maintain circulation and prevent stiffness without overstraining the recovering area. It’s important to listen to your body and avoid any heavy lifting or strenuous movements to protect the surgical site. Support from family, friends, and the community plays a vital role in the healing process by providing both practical assistance and emotional encouragement. Consider incorporating gratitude practices into your daily routine, which have been shown to enhance mental well-being and resilience during recovery. As you progress, follow-up visits with your orthopedic doctor are essential to monitor healing and to determine the best next steps, such as physical therapy or adjustments to your activity level. Staying positive and keeping a steady pace will help you come back stronger and reduce the risk of complications. Remember, every individual’s healing journey is unique, so maintaining open communication with your healthcare team and adopting a balanced approach to rest and movement can optimize your recovery experience and outcomes.
