celebrating 1 year at my job🤸‍♀️

i honestly had so much fun this year - it went bye so fast. some of my favorite moments from this school year were being apart of farm to school, providing nutrition education to my students throughout national nutrition month, joining the wellness committee, coordinating with a local compost pick up service and honestly, just playing in the kitchen. this year has been so beyond rewarding for me, in many ways that one, so enjoy some of my favorite pictures and moments from this first year!

Being part of the farm to school initiative allowed me to help students understand where their food comes from and the importance of fresh, local produce. This hands-on approach not only promotes healthier eating habits but also encourages environmental awareness. During National Nutrition Month, I was passionate about providing engaging nutrition education tailored to my students’ needs. Teaching about balanced diets, the importance of dairy and beans, and energy-boosting foods helped foster healthier lifestyles among the children. It was inspiring to see them get excited about eating well and building strong immune systems. Joining the wellness committee gave me the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues on creating supportive environments for healthy living. From promoting regular physical activity to encouraging better sleep quality, our collective efforts aim to improve overall well-being, which is crucial for academic and personal success. Another rewarding aspect was coordinating with a local compost pick-up service. This initiative helped reduce food waste at school and taught students about sustainability. Understanding how organic waste contributes to soil health strengthens their connection to nature and responsible resource use. Playing in the kitchen wasn’t just about preparing meals; it was about creativity and demonstrating that healthy food can be both fun and delicious. These experiences not only enriched my professional life but also brought joy and a sense of accomplishment.
