Changes I’ve noticed since I started running

Listen, if you knew me a year or two ago, or even 6 months ago, you'd know how crazy it is that I am now getting into running. Seriously, the biggest plot twist of the century

I've been running about 3 times a week for the past 3ish months. I do 25 minutes of treadmill (alternating between running and walking) before my stretch and lift each time I go to the gym. I'm not going to lie to you, the first month was HARD

But it's finally starting to get easier. I've noticed so many improvements in my physical and mental health that go way beyond anything related to appearance. The best thing for me is that my anxiety has gotten so much better since I started running consistently and I've been building confidence in myself to do hard things. So if you've been thinking about entering your runner girl era, I hope you take this as your sign 🥰

As you've embarked on this new fitness journey, it's essential to acknowledge positive changes, such as improved stamina and lower resting heart rates. Many runners report better lung capacity, making workouts feel more manageable and enjoyable. It's also common for individuals to experience reduced anxiety levels and improved mental clarity, largely due to the endorphins released during aerobic activities. If you're new to running, gradually building your routine can ease the transition from infrequent to consistent running. Consider setting achievable goals, such as participating in a local 5K or simply aiming to run a certain distance without stopping. Many runners find that they actually look forward to their sessions as they progress, making it a rewarding hobby. Joining a running community or groups online can also provide motivation and support as you journey toward a healthier lifestyle. Ultimately, running can become more than just exercise; it can foster a sense of achievement and boost your self-confidence as you conquer challenges both on the track and in everyday life.
