Finishing a sketchbook is always such a rewarding feeling! This latest one has been a journey through so many different ideas and styles, which I'm excited to share. When I started sketching, I really leaned into my love for anime-style characters. You'll see a lot of them throughout these pages, experimenting with different poses and expressions. It's truly amazing how much you can capture in just a few lines! One of the most unexpected inspirations in this book came from a deep dive into Wii homebrew tools/software. I found myself sketching characters like 'Bootmii,' 'Savemii,' and 'Gamerbomb,' imagining them as guardians or mischievous spirits within the console’s ecosystem. It was fascinating to think about the 'unreleased and unseen WiiU model' and 'Internal Nintendo documents' and how that tech could translate into unique character designs. These themes really pushed my creativity in new directions. And then there's the more playful side, like the Directv and Dish Network characters! It started as a funny idea, imagining these service providers as distinct personalities, and then exploring how they might interact, or even 'merge' as I drew them. It's moments like these, where everyday concepts spark an entire drawing sequence, that make sketchbooking so fun. Beyond the tech-inspired characters, you'll also spot numerous cartoon frog-like characters in various action poses, some even holding weapons! And those quirky green alien-like characters – some looking distressed, others quite menacing. I love letting my imagination run wild with these creatures. There's also a section dedicated to 'Pyraliss' and her 'mecha pyraliss' forms, exploring 'current Incarnations of the dark dragon' through different dates. Getting to sketch a Hatsune Miku look-alike was a treat too, especially around 'almost halloween' when creativity feels extra spooky. My sketchbook is truly a reflection of whatever catches my eye or sparks an idea, whether it's a 'Pearl plush' I wish existed or just drawing a 'ball of Cringe' that eventually turns into something I love. The beauty of a sketchbook tour is seeing the raw, unedited process, the 'bang bang' of ideas hitting the page. It's a personal space for growth, experimentation, and just having fun with art – no background music needed, just pure creative flow! I hope seeing my process encourages you to pick up your own sketchbook and start filling it with your unique ideas, no matter how wild or niche they might seem!
