LONDON TRAVEL GUIDE 🇬🇧

Unique experiences, pretty places and interesting hotels are totally my thing. All of these recs are either 10/10 recommended because I have been and LOVED it, or are high on my list with good reviews.

🏨 MY FAVORITE HOTELS

Mama Shelter London Shoreditch is hands down my favorite hotel I have stayed at yet. I would LOVE for their talented interior designer to come and design my home. Every inch is thoughtfully curated, the rooms are cozy with a bit of a late-night, sultry vibe (but not over the top) and the buffet breakfast was amazing!

🌼 PRETTY RESTAURANTS/CAFES

Each spot on the list meets my expectations for an aesthetic dining experience!

👀 RECOMMENDED THINGS TO SEE/DO

I have experienced each and would do all again. (Be sure to check my post fully covering Sky Garden!)

London Dungeon is a bit of a tourist attraction that still should be on your list. Think theatrical haunted house with theme park vibes featuring the history of London, including the plague. I loved how they took their own somewhat darker history and found a way to “make fun with it”.

🖼 WORTH-IT MUSEUMS

The Natural History Museum also made my London photo spots round-up (be sure to check that out as well) but it’s also a great spot to see ancient artifacts and learn more about human and world history. Also, most museums in London are FREE.

Be sure to check out some of these London recommendations and share some of yours below! 👇🏼

London
2023/5/12 Edited to

... Read moreSo glad you're looking into visiting London! While I shared some of my top picks for hotels and aesthetic dining, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into making your London trip truly unforgettable and practical. Getting around this bustling city is surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it. My best tip is to grab an Oyster card or simply use your contactless bank card for the Tube and buses – it’s super convenient and usually cheaper than buying single tickets. Don't be afraid to walk too; you discover so much more on foot, especially when strolling along the South Bank with stunning views of landmarks like Tower Bridge. When it comes to exploring, London is really a collection of villages, each with its own unique charm. While Shoreditch has that cool, artsy vibe I love (and where Mama Shelter made my stay so special!), don't miss the colorful houses and antique markets of Notting Hill, or the lively street performers in Covent Garden. Each neighborhood offers a completely different experience! Beyond the fantastic museums I mentioned, like the Natural History Museum with its incredible exhibits (that giraffe skeleton is unforgettable!), remember that many of London's world-class museums, like the British Museum and the V&A, are completely free to enter. It's an amazing way to soak up culture without breaking the bank. And speaking of saving money, packing a reusable water bottle and taking advantage of the city's beautiful parks, like Hyde Park or Regent's Park, for a leisurely afternoon picnic can really help your budget stretch further. Food-wise, while I adore spots like Cafe EL&N for a pretty brunch, you absolutely have to experience London's vibrant street food scene. Borough Market is a must-visit for incredible food stalls, and don't forget to pop into a traditional pub for a classic fish and chips or a Sunday roast – it’s such an authentic London experience! I found that trying a mix of both trendy and traditional spots gave me the best culinary overview. Finally, timing your visit can make a big difference. I personally love London in the spring when the parks are blooming, or during the festive winter period for the Christmas markets and cozy pub atmosphere. No matter when you go, London always has something magical to offer. I hope these extra tips help you plan your perfect adventure!
