This ended up being the perfect home base during our time in CDMX! 🌼 #hyattambassador
Tucked in the leafy, walkable neighborhood of La Condesa, this boutique Bunkhouse Hotels stay with just 19 rooms is a thoughtfully designed sister property to one of my faves in Austin- Carpenter Hotel.
We loved being able to walk to nearby coffee shops and boutiques.
All rooms are lovely, but we especially loved the room we stayed in the last night with its own private terrace. 🌿

Finding the perfect base for your Mexico City adventure can truly make or break a trip, and I recently stumbled upon a gem that I can't stop raving about: Hotel San Fernando in the heart of La Condesa. If you're looking for a boutique experience that blends local charm with modern comfort, this is it. From the moment I arrived, the design-forward stay caught my eye. Unlike larger, impersonal hotels, Hotel San Fernando offers an intimate atmosphere with just 19 rooms, making you feel more like a guest in a stylish friend's home. Each detail feels thoughtfully curated, from the decor to the comfort, ensuring a cohesive and inviting aesthetic throughout. It’s definitely a place where you can unwind after a busy day of exploring. One of the biggest highlights for me was the location. La Condesa is truly one of CDMX's most walkable neighborhoods. I loved being able to step out and immediately find myself surrounded by lush, tree-lined streets, charming coffee shops brewing delicious local blends, and unique boutiques perfect for an afternoon of browsing. Everything felt accessible by foot, which is a huge plus in a city as vast as Mexico City. There’s a fantastic energy in La Condesa, with beautiful parks like Parque México and Parque España just a short stroll away, offering green oases for relaxation. And let's talk about the rooms! While all rooms are lovely, if you get the chance, absolutely opt for one with a private terrace. Having that outdoor space was a game-changer. Imagine enjoying slow mornings, sipping coffee (perhaps from Lounge Fernando, which offers a delightful start to the day), and soaking in the vibrant city sounds and fresh air before heading out. It added an extra layer of luxury and privacy that I truly appreciated. The hotel’s connection to Bunkhouse Hotels, and being a sister property to the Carpenter Hotel in Austin, speaks volumes about its commitment to unique, high-quality experiences. It’s clear they understand what travelers are looking for: comfort, style, and an authentic local feel. For anyone planning a trip to Mexico City and seeking a memorable, design-conscious boutique hotel experience in a fantastic neighborhood, Hotel San Fernando should be at the top of your list. It truly was the perfect home base for my CDMX adventures, and I can't wait to go back.
