Look further when you wanna print Wedding Invites!

With my wedding banquet hosting at Raffles Singapore, our wedding invites are under the same package— supplied by Papypress. I reached out to them to decide on my wedding invitation draft and to also request to add on for Chinese invite.

We requested to move forward with Template Design in Pic3 but when the draft came back and after a few eyes looked at it, the only feedback I have from them is that it looks like a Christian Obituary photo (especially the Chinese invite). So I quickly asked if they can change a different design template and I was asked to pay $120 for a change of draft as mentioned in the email (see Pic2). MIND YOU ALL THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I RECEIVED THEIR DESIGN. And TBH my understanding of changing of draft is if it has gone to production or if I have already confirmed, then you charge me to change design I’ll be fine cause that’s on me. But this was the FIRST DRAFT I SAW??? And seriously it’s all a template leh???

Anyway, I wrote back in my email requesting a waiver, stating it was inconsiderate and simply unreasonable. I had to call in to plead my case as well, and thankfully, another staff member named ‘Pearl’ understood my situation and agreed that it was just the first draft. She even waived off my change of draft fee. At least she attempted to resolve the issue, but it left a sour taste in my mouth.

Seriously this is a reminder why people go on TB to print their own wedding invites. 0 flexibility from local vendors and yet TB offers UNLIMITED change of draft until you’re happy with it before production, at fraction of the price.

... Read moreWhen it comes to printing wedding invitations, finding a supplier that offers flexibility and understanding is crucial. In my case, although the venue and invitation package were conveniently bundled at Raffles Singapore, the print vendor Papypress lacked the adaptability I hoped for, especially with design drafts. From my experience, many local vendors may impose unexpected charges for draft changes even before final approval. To avoid similar frustrations, consider ordering your wedding invites from platforms like Taobao (TB), where you can make unlimited draft changes at a more affordable price before production. This freedom helps ensure that your invites truly reflect your style and preferences without added stress or costs. Additionally, don’t hesitate to discuss and confirm all fees related to design changes upfront. It’s wise to ask vendors if they charge for draft revisions or additional inserts, such as bilingual invitations, to avoid surprises. Personalized communication, like what I had with a helpful staff member named Pearl, can sometimes make a big difference. Lastly, carefully review your draft designs as soon as you receive them and seek feedback from family, since cultural sensitivity and visual impression matter greatly. For example, certain design elements might unintentionally resemble inappropriate themes, which, in my case, upset my parents and prompted a revision request. Taking these extra steps will help ensure your invitations set the perfect tone for your wedding day.

Why they need to charge you $120 when they have not print the invites yet 😨 Tb is much cheaper and quality is not bad too!

Hi Ruthie! I’m also holding my wedding in raffles in 2026, and am really shock to hear that you had to go through such a nasty service for the wedding invite :( Can I check if you are liaising directly with Papypress or through Raffles? Do you also mind sharing how the Chinese invites look like? I’m considering having Chinese invites too, but am unsure how it will look like on the raffles default design.
