A guide to our wedding at CHIJMES

Got married in July 2024, and sharing some photos from my photographer.

Wedding timeline can be seen in last photo 😃

We were blessed with good weather for the entire day. Managed to get some photos taken at the exterior of and in CHIJMES hall, and the photos looked great 😌

I’m glad we only did one march in, because that gave us so much more time to socialise with our guests! I managed to take so many photos with them at the photo booth too! 😌

We used the same items for church & CHIJMES reception tables, and it was all DIY! We brought our wedding signage over to display too!

Our bridal party helped to put the place cards and paper bags of faux petals on the tables, and also helped to set up the reception area.

We had some other DIY items for the dinner

☁️ faux rose petals - packed them in paper bags for guests to throw during the march in

☁️ place cards - we designed it on Microsoft word

☁️ table number brochure - we designed it on Canva, got it printed on slightly thicker paper at a local shop

☁️ wedding signage - designed on Canva and found a shop on taobao to print, it cost <$20 iirc

Some vendors we had engaged for our AD

☁️ 5amflowers - for the beautiful hedges, and personal flowers! I love the flowers sm

☁️ petalocakery - for the most delicious & beautiful cake that I’ve ever seen in my life

☁️ arcade photos - the liaising part with them was mildly painful, cause they took eons to reply. They did well on the AD, and having them was a great choice

Refer to my post on Our wedding in CHIJMES for all the vendors we engaged, and the inclusions we had from CHIJMES

and Our church wedding for more details on my AD 😬

One advice I would give to BTB, please send your invites out early! We did ours 3 months early and many didn’t RSVP until 1 month before the wedding. It was really stressful waiting for people to respond.

All the best for your wedding prep! Let me know if you have any questions 😃

... Read morePlanning a wedding at CHIJMES offers a unique blend of charm and convenience that truly impressed me. One thing I learned is the value of early invite sending — we sent ours three months before, but a lot of RSVPs only came through a month prior, which added stress. So, try to get those RSVPs well in advance to ease your preparation. For those considering DIY elements, using tools like Canva and Microsoft Word made designing our table numbers, place cards, and signage both affordable and personalized. Printing locally or sourcing from trusted online shops like Taobao can keep costs low without sacrificing style. The vendors we picked made a huge difference. Flowers from 5amflowers were stunning; I especially loved how the hedges enhanced the venue’s ambiance. Petalocakery’s cake wasn’t just beautiful but honestly one of the best tasting I've had. And though coordinating with arcade photos took some patience, they delivered great results for our actual day coverage. CHIJMES itself offers a lovely setting — from the historic exterior for photos to the versatile event spaces inside. It’s perfect for couples wanting a smaller, intimate venue with plenty of photo opportunities. Plus, the option to reuse decor items across different sections like the church and reception helped streamline our setup. If you’re thinking about incorporating fun elements like a photo booth or interactive games, it really adds to guest engagement and creates memorable moments. Our guests loved the photo booth laughs and the bingo game during dinner. Overall, having a well-planned timeline and involving your bridal party in setup can really help the day run smoothly. Don’t forget to enjoy the day yourself — we found that limiting formalities like only one grand march allowed more time to socialize and savor the moments. Happy wedding planning! Feel free to ask if you want more insights on booking CHIJMES or managing your wedding vendors effectively.

Reviewing Intimate Wedding Venues in SG
Hi Hi! As a 2026 bride, I have been exploring wedding venues in Singapore. I am not a fan of the typical hotel banquets but I really love the European/old money style aesthetic. So the venues I’ve short-listed are those with more colonial vibes. Here are my thoughts so far: 1. 𝓐𝓵𝓴𝓪𝓯𝓯 𝓜𝓪𝓷𝓼𝓲𝓸𝓷
