Getting back into it!
I’ve spent the last two years sitting in a dark place—feeling depressed, hating my body, and watching the weight climb. Today, I finally decided I was done feeling that way.
I got outside and moved. It was 2.8 miles of mostly walking with some jogging, plus an at-home workout to finish it off. It was cold and windy, but honestly? I didn't care. It felt incredible to just breathe fresh air and actually move. This is day one of changing my life around. I’m tired of waiting for 'someday.' Someday is today. 💪✨
What I've learned from taking that initial step is that the hardest part truly is just starting. The cold wind and low motivation were obstacles, but once I was moving, it became easier to focus on how refreshing it felt to be outside and active again. It’s amazing how even a simple walk combined with light jogging changed my mood and energy levels. In my experience, setting small, achievable goals helped me avoid getting overwhelmed. For example, beginning with 2-3 miles of walking and mixing in some jogging felt manageable and rewarding. Then finishing with an at-home workout gave a sense of accomplishment, reinforcing the habit. Breathing in fresh air was surprisingly uplifting—I realized how much time I spend indoors and how much that affects mental well-being. Movement not only benefits physical health but also is a powerful tool against depressive feelings and self-doubt. If you're struggling with a similar journey, don’t wait for 'someday.' Using the present moment to make even tiny improvements can lead to big changes. Celebrate progress, no matter how small, and remember that every day you choose to get outside and move is a victory. Life is waiting at 4:51 PM—and every other time too—so take that first step today.
