I used to think my body type limited my progress, but once I focused on consistent habits like going to the gym three times a week and walking 10,000 steps daily, I saw real change. Tracking calories accurately helped me maintain a calorie deficit, which is crucial for fat loss regardless of genetics. I aimed for 1-2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight each day, fueling muscle growth and recovery effectively. Using tools like NutriPlan and a food tracker app made it easier to monitor macros and make healthier meal choices — avocado and egg toast with veggies became a staple breakfast, balancing macros and providing sustained energy. This structured approach—prioritizing discipline over motivation—kept me on track even when motivation waned. It's about building a routine that works long-term and trusting the process. If genetics were the only factor, many wouldn’t see progress despite effort, but discipline bridges that gap. Sharing my journey highlights the importance of dedication, planning, and using smart tools to overcome misconceptions and achieve fitness goals.
