It starts with intentionality. Just as we protect our physical space, we must guard our mental gates. Pay attention to what you consume—the media, the conversations, even the company you keep. These all feed your thought life. If it doesn't align with truth, it's often best to distance yourself from it. Then, there’s the incredible power of God's Word. For me, daily scripture reading isn't just a religious ritual; it's my anchor and my weapon. When those old thoughts of fear, inadequacy, or temptation try to creep back in, I actively counter them with what God says about me and my situation. It’s like shining a bright light into a dark corner—the darkness has to flee. Intentional prayer is another vital tool. It’s not just about asking God for things, but about bringing every thought, every worry, every temptation directly before Him. It’s in that intimate conversation that I find clarity, strength, and the divine help I need daily. It helps me to truly 'take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ,' as 2 Corinthians 10:5 says. The hardest part? Consistently identifying and challenging those thoughts.
