🍣 | Affordable Omakase in Tanjong Pagar

hi bbs! I recently went to check out Sushi Yujo for lunch on my bf and I’s anniversary, and good things must share hor!! so here’s my #honestreview 𓏲ּ𝄢

located at Amara Hotel, this place was only a 6min walk away from Tanjong Pagar MRT!

we ordered the AI set at $68/pax, and we left with our tummies full 🥹 everything was so yummy and i can’t stop thinking about the ikura chawanmushi…though the menu stated that the chirashi was small, it was really filling for both me and my bf!

ended off our lunch with the yuzu sorbet and it was soo refreshing 🤤 the staff even handed us the river crabs to play with after our meal ✶⋆.˚

ambience was lovely and the staff made sure to explain each dish when serving! a really intimate experience, would def come back again for more ⋆౨ৎ˚⟡˖ ࣪

total damage was around $160 for both pax, and I feel like this was a really pleasant first omakase experience! if you’re looking for a more affordable place for omakase, do check out Sushi Yujo!

... Read moreIf you're curious about affordable omakase options around Tanjong Pagar, Sushi Yujo at Amara Hotel is truly worth considering. From my visit, I found that the portion sizes, especially for the chirashi, were satisfying enough not just for one but for two people to feel full and content. The personalized service, with staff explaining each dish, added an intimate touch that made the experience special beyond just the food. One highlight that I still think about is the ikura chawanmushi—a conditionally simple dish elevated to an incredible level with fresh ingredients and perfect seasoning. Ending with a palate-cleansing yuzu sorbet was refreshing and a lovely way to finish a meal. In terms of location, having Sushi Yujo just a short 6-minute walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT makes it very convenient for both locals and travelers. Given the overall cost was around $160 for two, including the charming ambiance and attentive service, it felt like excellent value for a quality omakase experience. For anyone wanting to try omakase without breaking the bank or facing overly complex menus, Sushi Yujo provides a welcoming environment. Especially for first-timers, this place offers a delightful introduction with its straightforward yet delicious sets. Plus, exploring Japanese cuisine at Amara Hotel adds that nice touch of elegance without the intimidating price tag.

Value for money omakase!
🤩 $115 for 11 courses, premium ingredients like Hokkaido Oysters, A5 Wagyu, Uni, and fresh sashimi is really value for money. Local chef, non-traditional hole in the wall spot. Definitely better than average for this price range, and would recommend the restaurant to non-Japanese food snobs!
