The blood clots and creates a 'patch' over the hole in the dura, helping to seal it and restore the cerebrospinal fluid pressure. It sounds intense, and it can be, but the relief from a severe spinal headache can be life-changing. Recovery usually involves more bed rest and avoiding heavy lifting, but it's a small price to pay for feeling human again. Living with hEDS means constantly navigating these potential complications. It's exhausting, both physically and mentally. The constant pain, the slow healing, and the fear of procedures can take a huge toll. But remember, you're not alone. Finding a good support system, whether online or in person, makes a world of difference.
