Score PR like This with less than 10K?! 🙉⬇️
💕 I started out as an influencer, then went into content creating and opened a page for UGC, but no matter what type of creator you are - there’s tons of brand who will still want to work with you even without a big following! 🥳
Stepping into UGC - these brands won’t require you to post on your own socials but if you’re an influencer or content creator - definitely expect to see this a lot! 🤔
💰 Some campaigns are purely gifted with the hopes of feature consideration but others will require some content and may even pay you so here’s some of the platforms I currently use:
✨ Skeepers:
(formerly known as octoly) the requirements are 1k for IG - I didn’t meet this until the beginning of this year, but I’ve gotten to try so many different brands and products since then!
Some campaigns are for a social share and others are as simple as a text review on a website! I love that they have a variety of products - mostly beauty related but also the occasional fashion, food/beverage, and home goods items.
✨ Obviously:
This one doesn’t have a minimum of followers because it all depends on the campaign and brand. Sign Up and apply for campaigns from gifted to paid opportunities and if a brand feels you’re a good fit - they’ll reach out! Some brands don’t care about your following while others will.
I’ve personally gotten some high paying campaigns from $500 to $1000 but I’ve even seen a few higher than that! I’ve also gotten some gifted products that had no obligations to post, and even incentives like gift cards!
✨ Fohr
Another Platform like the one above. I haven’t gotten any paid opportunities from here YET, but I’ve gotten some gifted ones. Some are no obligations while others have some!
I’ve gotten products from I Envy, MAC Cosmetics, and more!
✨ I have a few more - Should I do a Part 2?

It might sound like a dream, but landing PR packages and even paid collaborations with a small following is absolutely within reach! When I first started out, I thought I'd need tens of thousands of followers to even be considered, but my journey has shown me otherwise. Many brands are shifting their focus from massive reach to authentic engagement and high-quality user-generated content, which is fantastic news for budding creators. One of the biggest takeaways from my experience is that engagement trumps follower count. Brands aren't just looking at who has the most followers; they want to see who has a genuinely engaged audience that trusts their recommendations. So, whether you have 1,000 followers or 5,000, focus on building a community that interacts with your content. Reply to comments, ask questions, and show your personality. This authentic connection is gold to brands. To really stand out, you need to treat your social media profile or portfolio like a professional resume. Even if you're aiming for free products, put effort into your content. High-quality photos, clear video, and a consistent aesthetic will make a huge difference. Brands are essentially looking for content creators who can produce valuable assets for them. So, before you even apply for a campaign, ensure your existing content showcases your best work and clearly reflects your niche. Are you a skincare enthusiast? A fashionista on a budget? Let your passion shine through. When it comes to primary brands looking for UGC creators, you might be surprised by the variety. It's not always the huge, established names. Often, smaller, emerging brands or those launching new products are eager to partner with UGC creators to build initial buzz and gather authentic testimonials. They value your fresh perspective and the trust your audience places in you. Don't shy away from reaching out to brands you genuinely love, even if they aren't on a platform yet. A well-crafted email showcasing your work and explaining why you'd be a great fit can go a long way. And let's talk about those exciting PR boxes! Receiving a thoughtfully prepared package can be an incredible experience. It's not just about the product itself; it's about the brand's attention to detail, their messaging, and how they make you feel as a creator. Some of the most memorable ones I've received included personalized notes, extra goodies related to the product's theme, or unique packaging that made the unboxing a true event. This shows that the brand values your content and the experience you'll share with your audience. Remember, while getting free products is fantastic, the goal is always to create valuable content in return, which strengthens your portfolio and opens doors to more opportunities – potentially even paid ones! My journey has taught me that consistency, authenticity, and a genuine love for what you do are the real keys to unlocking those exciting brand collaborations, regardless of your follower count.
