教育資金贈与の非課税制度は、祖父母や親から30歳未満の子や孫へ最大1500万円までの一括贈与に対して贈与税がかからない画期的な制度です。私自身も家族の教育費準備でこの制度を活用しようと、2026年3月末の申込期限ギリギリまで手続きを進めました。 この制度の最大のポイントは、専用の教育資金口座に一括で資金を入れ、授業料や入学金だけでなく、塾代や習い事代、公共交通機関の定期代などの教育関連費用に最大500万円まで使えることです。ただし、すべての銀行で申込受付が終了しているわけではなく、対応している金融機関は限られているため、早めの確認が必要です。実際、私も地元の銀行が受付終了だったため他の金融機関に問い合わせて申請しました。 使い残しに対する税金リスクも要注意です。贈与者が亡くなったり、贈与された子や孫が30歳（一定条件により最大40歳）になるまでに使い切れなかった金額は、贈与税や相続税の対象となる場合があります。私の場合は、使い切れるかどうか計画を立て、定期的に支出管理を行いました。 制度終了後は、必要な都度教育費を親や祖父母が渡す方法が非課税なので、こちらの利用も検討しています。また、新NISAを使って資産形成し、教育費の準備をする方法も個人的に注目しています。 この制度は教育費の負担軽減に非常に有効ですが、期限が迫っているため、まだ検討中の方はすぐに金融機関への問い合わせや必要書類の準備を始めることをおすすめします。私も手続きに必要な贈与契約書や本人確認書類の準備で時間を要したため、できるだけ早く行動することが重要だと実感しました。教育資金贈与制度を賢く利用して、節税しながら大切な家族の将来に備えましょう。
