4 года в Америке
Living in America for four years has been a transformative experience for me, especially in terms of language learning and cultural adaptation. When I first arrived, my English level was quite basic, and I often felt frustrated because I couldn’t express myself fully or understand others easily. However, I realized early on that feeling defeated wouldn’t help me progress. Instead, I needed to train my brain to accept and adapt to the new language environment. One important lesson I learned is that crying or feeling sorry for myself over my English skills didn’t change anything. Speaking a second language isn’t meant only for 'special people'; it’s a challenge many face, and it’s part of the journey living abroad. What really helped me was consistently practicing speaking English, not worrying about making mistakes, and reminding myself that communication is about connection, not perfection. Over time, I became more confident and found that people around me appreciated my efforts. Although it was sometimes difficult when others didn’t understand me at first, I realized it was more about their unfamiliarity than my inadequacy. This shift in perspective was crucial. Aside from language, living in the US exposed me to a variety of cultures and ways of thinking. Embracing these differences enriched my life and helped me grow both personally and professionally. To anyone moving to a new country, I recommend patience, resilience, and immersing yourself fully in the experience. Language skills develop with time and practice, and the cultural insights you gain will be invaluable lifelong assets.
