Canon G7X is unmatched

This helps the camera retain detail in the brightest parts of the sky without blowing them out. Experiment with your white balance; sometimes setting it to 'cloudy' or 'shade' can warm up the tones even more, making those dramatic sunset skies pop. Think about silhouettes too! Having a subject, like me in my black bikini standing against the fiery backdrop of the setting sun over the ocean, can create such a powerful and artistic image. It's all about playing with the light as it fades from dusk. And for portrait photography in these beautiful settings? The G7X's wide aperture (especially at f/1.8) is your best friend for creating that lovely blurry background, or 'bokeh,' that makes your subject really stand out. I loved using the flip-up screen for self-portraits or when my fiancé was taking my picture – it makes it so easy to check your pose and framing. We tried a mix of looking directly at the camera with a big smile, and more candid shots looking to the side, enjoying the view. Natural light is key; try to position your subject so the light hits their face evenly, avoiding harsh shadows. Beyond specific shots, the G7X is just so portable. It slipped right into my beach bag, making it easy to carry around all day without feeling weighed down. Battery life was decent, but I always kept a spare charged. And don't forget its video capabilities – it's phenomenal for capturing short clips of the waves or those spontaneous honeymoon moments.
