Hey everyone! I noticed a lot of you are curious about age regression, often called 'agere,' and I wanted to share a bit more about what it means to me and why it's such a vital part of my self-care routine. When I first heard about age regression, I admit, I was a little confused, but once I understood the true meaning behind it, it clicked. At its core, age regression for adults is a healthy, voluntary coping mechanism. It's when someone temporarily reverts to a younger mental state to find comfort, process emotions, or relieve stress. It's not about literally becoming a child again, but rather accessing those childlike feelings of safety, innocence, and simplicity that might have been missing or overwhelmed during difficult times. For many, including myself, it's deeply connected to inner child healing and trauma coping. We're talking about adults, 18+, finding a safe space within themselves. One of the most common questions I see is, 'What is age regression, and is it bad?' My answer is a firm no! When practiced safely and responsibly, it's incredibly beneficial. It allows me to step away from adult responsibilities and pressures, even just for an hour, and embrace activities that bring me pure, unadulterated joy. Think about watching your favorite childhood cartoons, coloring, cuddling a soft toy, or even just letting out a silly giggle without judgment. It’s about creating a personal sanctuary where you can feel vulnerable and cared for. I've also seen questions like, 'Can age regression be voluntary?' Absolutely! For most adults who engage in it, agere is a conscious choice. It's a tool we use when we feel overwhelmed, anxious, or just need a moment of peace. It's not something that takes over; rather, it’s a controlled return to a simpler mindset. The goal isn't to escape reality permanently, but to recharge so we can face it with more resilience. Another crucial point: 'DO NOT SEGGUALIZE ME.' This is something I feel strongly about, and it's important to clarify. Age regression is inherently non-sexual. It's about emotional and psychological needs, not physical ones. The '🍼 18+' tag in my original post is there to emphasize that this is an adult coping strategy focused on healing and comfort, completely separate from anything inappropriate. It's about nurturing oneself, accessing a sense of wonder, and sometimes, just letting out that inner Elmo laugh at silly things! If you're exploring age regression for yourself, remember it's a personal journey. There’s no right or wrong way to do it. It could involve listening to childhood music, using comfort items, or simply engaging in creative play. It’s about finding what makes you feel safe, loved, and at peace. It's a powerful tool for self-discovery and emotional well-being that has truly made a difference in my life.
