ADHD X Financial Sabotage

When things get good, do you burn it down?

I used to think something was wrong with me. Turns out my nervous system just never learned that stable was safe. I grew up with unpredictable money, unpredictable everything -- so my body memorized chaos as normal.

When calm showed up, it felt like a warning.

If you have ADHD, this hits different. Your brain is already looking for the next problem. Add old money trauma on top of that and you have a system that will quietly dismantle good things just to get back to familiar.

The sabotage isn't random. It's protective.

So what do you actually do?

Next time business feels too quiet and you get the itch to blow it up -- don't move yet. Sit with it for 60 seconds. Put your hand on your chest and ask: am I actually in danger or does this just not feel like home?

That gap between the feeling and the action? That's where everything changes.

This is exactly what we work through inside Richer You In 52 -- my 52 week program where we use hypnotherapy and subconscious reprogramming to help ADHD entrepreneurs stop surviving their success and actually keep it.

Not with more strategy. With rewiring.

If this aligns come find us at fwrdinstitute.com/richer-you.

... Read moreLiving with ADHD often means our brains are wired to crave stimulation and anticipate chaos, which can make financial stability feel unfamiliar or even threatening. From my personal experience, when income starts to stabilize or grow, there’s an almost automatic urge to disrupt that calm. This isn’t mere poor decision-making – it’s a deeply ingrained protective response born from a nervous system conditioned by unpredictability. I struggled with this pattern for years. Whenever my business showed signs of success, I unintentionally created problems that forced me back into a familiar state of chaos. Rest felt restless, and peace felt like a warning sign because my brain was accustomed to constant problem-solving and emergency mode. This is precisely why traditional financial advice or manifestation tactics often don’t work for ADHD entrepreneurs. These methods assume a stable nervous system and overlook the fundamental rewiring that’s needed. What helped me was learning to pause and sit with uncomfortable feelings instead of reacting immediately. When that urge to sabotage arises, placing a hand on my chest and questioning whether I’m actually in danger or just uncomfortable with calm gave me the space to choose a different response. This practice gradually retrained my subconscious, replacing fear-driven reactions with mindful decisions. Hypnotherapy and subconscious reprogramming played a crucial role in this transformation. They helped me make peace with abundance and normalize overflow of wealth without triggering my survival instincts. The key is not more strategy or hustle, but rewiring the part of the brain that equates calm with danger. For ADHD entrepreneurs feeling stuck in a cycle of financial self-sabotage, incorporating these techniques can be life-changing. It’s about creating a nervous system that views stability and success as safe and exciting, not threatening. My journey taught me that calm isn’t the enemy; it’s the foundation for sustainable growth and fulfillment.
