lab work to reach your health goals in 2025 ⭐

lab testing is SO important for finding the root cause of *why* you’re feeling anxious, have no energy, or burnt out. these are the labs i like to run in practice to dive deeper into what imbalances are going on in the body.

⚡️ CBC: this looks for signs of infection or anemia that can manifest with changes in your mood

⚡️ CMP: looks at your electrolytes, liver & kidney function, blood sugar levels - things we want to make sure are in balance or they can start to affect your mood

⚡️ Ferritin: this is a marker of your iron reserves, when your iron is low you can feel anxious, fatigued, and low mood

⚡️ Vitamin D - low levels of Vit D are associated with depression and anxiety, but it’s important to test before you supplement because dosing too high can be harmful

⚡️ TSH, fT3, fT4 - these are thyroid markers, when your in a hypothyroid state you might have a low mood, in a hyperthyroid state you may be more anxious

⚡️ CRP: these are inflammation markers, chronic inflammation can worsen mood symptoms and means we need to do some more digging

⚡️ Vitamin B12: nutrient deficiencies that are easily correctable & shown to have an effect on your mental health

Regular lab testing can identify imbalances in key health markers that contribute to feelings of anxiety and fatigue. Important tests include the CBC, which detects signs of infection or anemia that can directly affect mood. The CMP provides insights into kidney and liver function, essential for balancing mood-related hormones. Monitoring Ferritin levels helps assess iron reserves; low iron can lead to fatigue and anxiety. Vitamin D and thyroid markers (TSH, fT3, fT4) are also vital, as low Vitamin D levels have been linked to depression. Finally, inflammation markers like CRP can reveal chronic inflammation that may worsen mood symptoms. By conducting these tests, individuals can build an effective health strategy and work closely with their healthcare providers towards optimal mental health in 2025.
