A day of metabolic eats

Your metabolism governs all processes in the body.

A faulty metabolism=things aren’t going to work as they are meant to.

I grew up and have spent YEARS wreaking havoc on my metabolism; under eating, over exercising, suppressing emotional trauma and overall placing a shit ton of stress on my mind, body and soul.

Stress in any form slows down the metabolism because it tells the body that it is not safe, and that it needs to conserve energy. Most people understand this in terms of stalled weight loss or metabolic adaptation, however over an extended period of time, it also contributes to impaired gut motility, hormonal imbalances, blood sugar dysregulation/issues with insulin resistance, leptin resistance, impaired reproductive health among many other consequences.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve been trying to dive deeper into internal health, as I can tell my body isn’t responding in the way that it used to.

I struggled with things such as low testosterone, low thyroid, low progesterone, and even high A1C among many other imbalances that I tried to treat individually.

However, I’ve realized now that all of these things tie back to metabolism, and how years of placing so much stress on my body has contributed to not only a physique that “isn’t reflective of all the hard work”, it more importantly internal struggles such as the ones stated above.

I’m creating a post on habits that I am introducing and a lifestyle I’m adapting to work on healing my metabolism, but for now I hope that this can inspire you to nourish your metabolism and don’t make the mistakes that I made:)
