January thoughts

💭Hello there. It’s mid-January, and I’ve been sitting with a few thoughts since the new year began.

Everyone talks about the new year like it’s a reset button; new resolutions, new goals, new opportunities.

But the older I get, the more intimidating it feels.

We treat January like the start of a new life, when really, it’s just another day. The calendar changes, expectations rise, and suddenly we’re supposed to know where we’re headed.

I do understand why the new year feels like a refresh - a chance to realign and rethink what’s ahead. But sometimes it feels a little overdone, almost like we’re forcing clarity before it has time to arrive.

For companies, maybe the direction is clearer.

For individuals, I’m not so sure.

Every day already holds the chance to do something differently, yet we reserve change for one month of the year. Maybe that’s why new habits rarely last beyond a few weeks. Not because we lack discipline, but because real change doesn’t follow a timeline.

This year, especially, feels uncertain for me. There are changes ahead, milestones I can’t fully picture yet, and decisions that don’t come with clear answers.

I’m learning to sit with that - instead of rushing to make sense of everything. Taking it day by day, and trying to be a little better as I go. 🌀🌀

I hope you’re doing okay too, wherever this January finds you.

More reading thoughts and medical good-to-knows coming soon.

... Read moreWhile many anticipate January as a clean slate, I've come to realize that transforming our lives isn't bound by the calendar. Real change unfolds gradually, often without clear milestones or quick answers. From personal experience, trying to force a sudden clarity or sweeping resolutions can feel overwhelming, especially when life’s uncertainties loom large. Instead, I find value in embracing the unknown—recognizing that every day offers an opportunity to grow a little, without the pressure of a grand plan. Sitting with discomfort and uncertainty has taught me resilience and self-compassion. It’s okay not to have everything figured out immediately. If you’ve ever considered a significant life change but felt hesitant, remember that it’s natural for decisions to take time. Whether you’re contemplating a career shift, a creative pursuit, or personal growth, allow yourself space to explore without rushing. This mindset aligns more realistically with how lasting habits and perspectives evolve. For me, January thoughts are less about instant transformation and more about acknowledging the feelings beneath the surface—be it anxiety, hope, or quiet determination. To anyone else navigating this cloudy season, know that you're not alone in feeling uncertain. Let’s take this journey day by day, fostering mindfulness and gentle progress together.

🇸🇬🇲🇾 31 people chose to begin. ⭐
31 people chose to begin. No noise. No perfect timing. Just a decision to grow. This January 2026 monthly meeting reminded me, mindset moves first. ✅ Before confidence. ✅ Before results. ✅ Before anyone notices. Sometimes the bravest thing is simply saying yes to a new direction ❤

Huaihai Middle Road in January🇨🇳
Huaihai Middle Road in January feels slightly chilly, yet full of everyday warmth and energy. With so many great eateries lining the street, it’s the kind of place where you naturally slow down, follow the aromas, and enjoy eating your way along. 📍Chef (厨师) I was instantly drawn in by the aroma
