Eating on Holiday using Glucose Goddess Method🍽️

While following the Glucose Goddess method!

I’ve been wanting to get rid of my sugar cravings for the past few years, but I have a sweet tooth and nothing worked so far.

I’d try to quit for a week or a month, and avoid buying sweets and then would get cravings again, and start this negative cycle again.

The reality is that we have too much sugar in all of our foods, not just desserts, and so when I first listened to a podcast episode about The Glucose Goddess method, I bought the book.

I’ve been following her method for a month now, and I stopped craving sugar or sweets after every meal in 2 days. Most desserts are now too sweet for me too!

That’s a massive change, I also don’t bloat as much anymore, unless I have dairy and my digestion has improved a lot too.

I was worried about travelling because I couldn’t bring vinegar with me, but I decided to stick to 3 out of the 4 books outlined in her book, and so far I’ve been fine.

This method is also not restrictive, I can still enjoy gelato after lunch or dinner.

I highly recommend reading her book if you want to curb your sugar cravings!

... Read moreAfter struggling with sugar cravings for years and feeling bloated after meals, discovering the Glucose Goddess Method has been a game-changer for me, especially when eating on holiday. I was worried about how I'd manage away from home, but it turns out, it's surprisingly adaptable! If you're looking for practical ways to implement this method, especially when traveling or just in your daily life, here are some of my favorite tips and meal ideas that helped me. First, let's talk about the incredible impact of a savory breakfast. This is one of the pillars of the Glucose Goddess method, and it truly sets the tone for your day. Instead of reaching for sugary cereals or pastries, I focused on a protein-rich breakfast. My go-to, as you might have seen in my photos, is often a plate with eggs, avocado, and spinach. This combination of protein, healthy fats, and fiber keeps my blood sugar stable, preventing those immediate spikes and subsequent crashes that lead to mid-morning cravings. It's easy to find these ingredients almost anywhere, even when traveling. Just ask for eggs cooked however you like, and add some greens if available! Next up is food order. This hack has been revolutionary. The idea is to eat your fiber first (vegetables), then protein and fats, and finally starches and sugars. This slows down glucose absorption. So, when I was faced with a delicious plate of spaghetti with red sauce, I made sure to have a generous side salad or some cooked vegetables first. This little trick helps buffer the impact of the carbs. Even if you can't perfectly separate everything, aiming to start with a handful of greens or some non-starchy veggies makes a huge difference. Think about loading up on the salad bar before diving into the main course, or asking for extra vegetables in your stir-fry. Now, about the vinegar shot – a key part of the method. I know the author mentions not being able to bring vinegar with her, and I faced a similar dilemma. While the apple cider vinegar shot before meals is highly effective, if you're on the go, simply adding lemon juice to your water or opting for salads with vinaigrette dressings can offer some similar benefits. It's about thinking creatively and doing what you can! Don't let one missing element stop you from trying the rest of the method. For general glucose goddess meals and meal ideas, focus on increasing your fiber intake at every meal. This means more vegetables, legumes, and whole grains (when you get to them!). For lunch and dinner, I often seek out dishes that are rich in protein, like grilled fish or chicken, paired with plenty of greens. Snacks can be simple: a handful of nuts, some cheese (yes, glucose goddess cheese is a thing!), or a hard-boiled egg. And the best part? It's not restrictive! As you can see from my experience of enjoying green gelato, this method allows for treats in moderation. By managing your glucose spikes throughout the day, you can actually enjoy these moments without the guilt or the subsequent sugar crash. Adopting these glucose goddess rules has not only curbed my sugar cravings but also significantly improved my digestion and overall energy levels. It's about making smart choices, not deprivation, and it's completely achievable whether you're at home or exploring new places.

I want her book. I listened to a podcast she was featured in and wow. I’m a diabetic so I’ve been trying so hard but it’s difficult at times.
