You are what you think you think you are.

Whether negative: Why do I always...How come I always...Why am I not able to...

Or Positive: I can always...that's easy because...I have no problem...

It's based on what your internal beliefs are. Simple answer, if you want to change something about yourself or behaviors, change your belief about who you are and what you do.

Now, yes, easier said than done. What you do over and over is what defines you and creates your tendencies whether good or bad. Because this repetition starts to hardwire internal beliefs about yourself and in trying to change these habits based on beliefs, feels inconsistent and therefore causes stress.

You wind up believing you should act a certain way, through what you repeatedly do which in turn becomes a self-fulling roadmap.

Change happens when you start to believe in the changes you are wanting. Instead of saying "I should" or "I need to" reframe it into "I probably will do x, because that's just who I am" From here start working on the things you do most often and link this new line of thinking to positive outcomes. reasons for the changes.

Bottom line: Your patterns create a feedback loop reinforcing your beliefs on who you are, whether you like them or not. So create new expectations and then start looking and what you repeat the most, change comes from there.
