One of our favorite family, friendly hotels in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. Compass by Margaritaville seriously feels like a little beach vacation in the Smoky Mountains. Spacious rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, a lazy river, waterslides, splash area for the kids, and plenty to do right at the hotel. Having stayed multiple times at Compass by Margaritaville in Pigeon Forge, I can confidently say it offers an unmatched combination of relaxation and fun for families. The indoor and outdoor pools provide year-round swimming options, and the lazy river is easily a favorite for both adults and kids to unwind after a day of exploring the Smoky Mountains. What impressed me most was the thoughtful design catering to families with children — from splash areas and water slides to plenty of open spaces for kids to play safely. Unlike many mountain resorts, Compass by Margaritaville brings a unique beachfront atmosphere enhanced by the warm, tropical styling and relaxing vibes, which makes you forget you’re actually surrounded by mountains. Besides the amenities on-site, the hotel’s location is conveniently close to Pigeon Forge attractions, making it easy to plan day trips without long drives. Whether it’s Dollywood, local dinner theaters, or hiking adventures in the Smokies, you have a great home base to return to. For families traveling with kids, the resort also offers suites and rooms with ample space, which makes packing and living more comfortable during longer stays. The staff is friendly and accommodating, contributing to a welcoming environment that encourages repeat visits.
