Everything (memorable) I had in malacca 😋

Not the perfect food guide but here’s what I had in #malacca

💖 The Daily Fix Cafe

⭐️8/10⭐️

Good coffee and cafe food, what more can I ask for? This place is quite pops, so better head in early or expect a Q. I did some shopping at their boutique section and I gotta say they really had some interesting souvenirs.

💖 Restoran Baba Ang

⭐️9/10⭐️

Was brought here by a friend for dinner and it has really yummy Nyonya cuisine!

No walk-ins allowed. Reservation required.

💖一日山品 Something Bakery (Melaka HQ)

⭐️9/10⭐️

You know it’s good when their locals flock here to buy home. Imo, this is ever more delicious than Lady M and not to mention; REALLY affordable

💖 Kee Nguyễn - Vietnam Coffee

⭐️10/10⭐️

Really a hidden gem. Quite place to chill.

💖 Calanthe Art Cafe

⭐️ 7/10⭐️

Eggs were good, interesting crafted coffees as well. Food was rather mediocre, but affordable.

Malacca

... Read moreExploring Malacca’s culinary scene is truly an adventure for the senses. While Baba Ang stood out with its authentic and flavorful Nyonya dishes, which I highly recommend booking in advance due to their reservation-only policy, there’s much more to try beyond just Nyonya cuisine. If you're hunting for aesthetic cafes with a cozy vibe, like The Daily Fix Cafe or Calanthe Art Cafe, getting there early is key since they tend to get busy quickly. The Daily Fix also offers a delightful boutique section where you can pick up unique souvenirs that bring home the spirit of Malacca. Don’t miss out on Something Bakery, known for its delicious crepe cakes that many locals swear by. I found it to be a wonderful alternative to the usual spots like Lady M, especially considering its affordability. For a more tranquil coffee break, Kee Nguyễn Vietnam Coffee is a hidden gem offering a peaceful atmosphere paired with excellent brews. It’s definitely a perfect spot for anyone wanting to chill away from the busier areas. When it comes to souvenirs related to Melaka’s food culture, look beyond packaged snacks and explore artisan foods or handcrafted edible souvenirs from local cafes and shops. These often represent the culinary heritage of Malacca and make meaningful gifts. Overall, the variety in Malacca from traditional Nyonya restaurants to modern, artsy cafes offers something for every palate, making it a rewarding destination for food lovers looking to indulge and discover authentic Malaysian flavors.

We went to Melaka as a group of 6 for a short retreat from 12–15 Dec, and honestly—it was surprisingly peaceful 😌Not much crowd at all, maybe because the Ringgit is stronger now, or people chose other destinations 🤔 Even over the weekend, most popular restaurants had almost no queue. We didn’t tra

new activity idea: create your own vintage watch ⌚️
Did a watch-making workshop at @Requisite Store recently with my girlfriends to celebrate our birthdays, and it was honestly such a nice way to spend an afternoon. ⌚️ I’ve always wanted a vintage-style watch, so being able to customise one myself was really fun. From picking the dial to adding
